🚨 On the 61st Anniversary of the Older Americans Act being signed into law, the OAA Reauthorization Act has PASSED the Senate! Chairman @SenRickScott has been leading the fight to reauthorize the OAA by holding hearings and writing legislation to protect and expand critical resources for our seniors. To every witness, patient, and advocate who has participated in a hearing or fought for this legislation, this is a huge step in the right direction. Now, it’s up to the House to pass this and ensure our older Americans live out their golden years with dignity and strength.

.@cpa_tradereform is right that you cannot rebuild what you cannot see, and right that origin labeling is the next step after registration. Chairman @SenRickScott’s CLEAR LABELS Act would require that country of origin labeling, so Americans know where their medicines actually come from. Registration tells FDA a facility exists. Labeling tells patients what they’re taking. We need both.

You cannot rebuild what you cannot see. For years, the most critical link in our drug supply chain — the upstream chemistry — has been invisible to our own regulators. A proposed rule issued by @US_FDA would require foreign establishments manufacturing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and other drug components to register with the FDA and list their products — even when those ingredients are shipped to a third country for finishing before entering the United States. Transparency is a foundation, not a finish line. Knowing where our medicines truly originate is what makes real policy possible — origin labeling so patients and hospitals know what they are buying, procurement preferences that reward American producers from key starting materials to finished dose, and the tariffs and industrial policy incentives required to rebuild domestic capacity. We know COMMUNIST CHINA uses Uyghur SLAVE LABOR. We know they make more dangerous generic drugs than the ones we produce here. It’s unacceptable. It’s time to take action to stop the human rights abuses and keep American patients SAFE.
