The reported Hoolash case shows exactly why that is reckless. Labor wants the risk to stay with the community, but the accountability to disappear. No matter where I go, Australians tell me they have two major concerns for our country: the ever-rising cost of living and immigration levels, particularly when new arrivals do not share our values. We hear you, we know this government is letting Australians down, and we will continue to hold their feet to the fire. These issues are too important to ignore and it is only through addressing them that we can all enjoy a brighter future.

The Australian Human Rights Commission just released its new Strategic Plan and it reads like a political manifesto. This taxpayer-funded body declares that colonisers committed 'genocidal acts,' and that Indigenous sovereignty co-exists alongside Australian sovereignty. These are not established legal facts. No court has determined them. The Australian Parliament has not legislated them. A body entrusted with shaping the national conversation on human rights must approach its work with impartiality: not be ideologically pre-committed before that work even begins. I will be demanding answers at senate estimates.

Enough. The Australian Human Rights Commission wants Australia to bring back 34 women and children from ISIS detention camps in Syria. Have they learnt nothing? ISIS is a murderous terrorist death cult responsible for barbarism, slavery and mass slaughter. This is reckless. It is out of touch. And it should be rejected

The Iranian regime has exported terror and destabilised global security for decades. It has brought this reckoning on itself. We stand with our allies - and with the Iranian people who deserve freedom.

The theocratic Iranian regime is authoritarian, antisemitic and abhorrent. It wants nuclear weapons, seeks the destruction of Israel, has encouraged terrorism through its proxies - Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis - and has supplied weapons to Russia to support Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. It is also responsible for acts of foreign interference in Australia and igniting antisemitism. Since 1979, the revolutionary Islamic government in Tehran has oppressed, imprisoned and murdered Iranians. We pray for the Iranian people at this time. May courage prevail.

The Iranian people deserve freedom. The regime that represses them and sponsors instability must be held accountable. Democracies should always stand for the rights of free people.

34 in the ISIS brides cohort. Same terrorist organisation. Same declared area. The same ideology that inspired the Bondi attack. But Labor thinks only ONE is a security risk? Australians deserve answers.

If the Minister is claiming that only one of the 34 strong ISIS Bride cohort is deemed risky enough to warrant a Temporary Exclusion Order, then this raises more questions than answers. These ISIS Brides all travelled to the same ‘declared area’ for the same reason of supporting the same listed terrorist organisation - how can only one member of this group be deemed a risk and the rest somehow okay?

The Albanese Government needs to come clean with the Australian people. Are any of these ISIS-linked Australians coming back to Australia? Are passports being processed or will they be? What specific security assessments have been or will be undertaken? Has the Government used - or even considered using - its Temporary Exclusion Order powers? Australians deserve straight answers, not carefully worded statements about “monitoring the situation.” These are individuals who chose to associate with a terrorist caliphate. This is a national security issue - not a routine consular matter. Enough ambiguity. Enough spin. This isn’t a PR exercise. It’s Australia’s safety. Come clean.

This is simple. Come to Australia. Work hard. Respect our laws. Embrace our values. If you won’t - the door must be shut.

Under the Albanese Government, living standards have gone backwards and the cost of everything keeps rising. Rather than help Australian families, Labor has mismanaged the economy and promoted division in the Australian community. With Angus and Jane, we move forward with renewed energy and a clear mission: protect our way of life, restore our standard of living, and stand up for Australian values. Less than two months after the Bondi Hanukkah terror attack that murdered 15 people, Sydney was again confronted with intimidatory, pro-terrorist mobs chanting violent slogans and attacking police. NSW Police were right to step in and take back the streets from these antisemitic thugs. Australians have had enough.

My calls for self regulation of the Islamic faith in Australia is requiring nothing more of Islamic religious leaders than any other faiths in Australia. I am asking for Islamic leaders to regulate and provide stronger protections against radicalisation within the Islamic faith community for the benefits of their own community and our wider Australian society. As I said in the speech, if there similar weaknesses in other faiths, including my own, the same requirements should apply.
