Newsom’s response to high gas prices is telling you to avoid certain gas stations. Meanwhile, @SenStricklandCA’s #SB1035 would’ve lowered gas prices by $1.08/gal IMMEDIATELY. The majority party didn’t even consider it.

NEW: In his “May Revision” budget presentation on Thursday, California Gov. @GavinNewsom @CAgovernor will announce a plan to cut taxes for new businesses in California, according to information provided exclusively to us by Newsom’s office. Specifically, Newsom will propose cutting California’s first-year LLC filing tax in half for new businesses. Under the plan, new LLCs, LPs, and LLPs would pay $400 instead of $800 in their first year from 2027-2029. The governor’s office says the move would help roughly 250,000 new businesses annually and lower startup costs for entrepreneurs. The plan will need to receive the approval of at least a majority of the legislature.
