Today is the National Day of Prayer! The theme for this year is Glorifying God Among the Nations - Seeking Him in All Generations. The verse for this year is 1 Chronicles 16:24 "Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples."

What a wonderful start to the morning joining the 5th Annual Pennsylvania Bible Reading Marathon. This 5-day event, spans over 90 hours, which is a non-stop reading of the bible from Genesis to Revelation. It was great to see Tim and Dawn Allen, who were there with their family.

We put protection of female athletes front and center with the Senate’s bipartisan approval of the Save Women’s Sports Act, to ensure athletic programs in our schools maintain appropriate sex based designations. ℹ️ bit.ly/4vIoNLY

We passed @SenatorJWard’s and @SenatorKristin’s legislation requiring public schools and colleges to classify sports teams by biological sex and limit participation on women’s teams to biological females.

I joined Sen. Lisa Baker, to introduce Sen. Res. 232, recognizing Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week here in PA, which is March 8-14. The theme this year is “Inhale Confidence, Exhale Limits.” Pulmonary disease is the 3rd leading cause of death in the US & the 5th leading cause in PA.

As an under-recognized and underdiagnosed condition, estimated to affect 1 in 2,000 Americans, Senate Resolution 235, brings much needed attention to the symptoms and disorders associated with Narcolepsy.

Each year, Suddenly Sleepy Saturday falls on the day before we turn our clock ahead for Daylight Saving Time. This one-hour change in the day can lead many without Narcolepsy to experience some of Narcolepsy’s classic symptoms, such as excessive daytime sleepiness.

I introduced Senate Resolution 235 designating March 7, as “Suddenly Sleepy Saturday for Narcolepsy Awareness” in PA. Suddenly Sleepy Saturday was established in 2012 to generate public awareness of Narcolepsy.
