Trucking companies like TraLo are hauling vital products and goods across the state and country, while jumping through more and more hoops with insurance requirements, tech mandates, and regulations. It's not easy, but they do a phenomenal job getting it done!

Gov. Walz finally talking to the president is an important first step. Still a lot of work to do, for sure, but hopefully this will pave the way to calming the tensions here while still allowing law enforcement to remove violent criminals from the street.

K-9 units are a critical part of safety for inmates and staff at corrections facilities. It is an extremely valuable and proven tool. Cutting the program would be a huge mistake! My colleagues and I sent a letter to Commissioner Schnell encouraging him to reconsider that plan.

Thank you so much to the Coalition of Greater MN Cities for naming me as a 2025 legislator of distinction! Thankful for the great working relationship with cities across the state!

Honored to be named a Legislator of Distinction by the League of Minnesota Cities! My years as a mayor and city councilor taught me how important it is for state and local leaders to work together. That experience still guides me every day in the Senate!

Today’s guilty verdicts confirm what we’ve known for over a year: Senator Nicole Mitchell committed serious felonies and has no business serving in the Minnesota Senate.

There were a few things to be happy about with this year's transportation budget but overall it is incredibly disappointing. It took even more money away from roads and bridges to fund non-road projects. It's the wrong priorities!

With a $6 billion deficit on the horizon, the new state budget protects government bureaucracy while asking vulnerable families and seniors to shoulder the sacrifice. That is the exact opposite of putting Minnesotans first.

Happy Independence Day! Enjoy your celebrations today, but let's also take a minute to thank the countless brave military and first responders who put themselves in harm’s way to protect us. Thank you to all who serve. Have a great and safe holiday!

This is unspeakable violence that has no place in our society, and I hope the individual or individuals who did this are swiftly brought to justice.

I also want to thank law enforcement around the state, the state patrol, and Capitol Security for their fast and professional response, and for everything they do to keep us safe.

I am disturbed and saddened by the shootings of Speaker Emerita Hortman, Senator Hoffman, and their families this morning. In my years in the Senate, I have known them both to be great colleagues, dedicated public servants, and wonderful people. I will continue praying for them

One consistent theme of this year's state budget: Even though we are facing a $6 billion deficit due to Democrats reckless spending, the governor's agencies got big increases while Minnesotans shouldered the cuts. Democrats chose to fund bureaucracies over Minnesotans.

The bill itself still diverts too much money away from roads and bridges. We have a huge amount of local road and local bridge needs. That should be our top transportation priority. Watch my full comments here: facebook.com/share/v/1C2nVV…

The best part of the 2025 transportation bill is what it does not include: We successfully removed the item that was dropped in at the last minute to steal $93 million from counties to give to the Met Council. That is a big victory for counties.

At the last minute, Democrats added a provision to the transportation bill that would shift $93 million away from counties to fund the Met Council. I would be furious if I was in the seven-county area. This is wrong.

It's extremely disappointing we need a special session to finish our work, but losing three weeks at the start of the year because House Democrats refused to come to work was too much of a setback. With divided government, compromise is the name of the game!
