This is just criminal. 🚨 PA: pay attention! This is cost of doing business to “win the war for ai supremacy”… which is really just a war on regular people by the greedy and powerful billionaire big tech bros and their bought and paid for elected officials.

Nearly 50,000 people in the Lake Tahoe area have been told that their utility will stop providing power to them, because it's redirecting that power to data centers. NV Energy, the Nevada utility that has supplied most of Lake Tahoe’s electricity for decades, says that next year it will stop servicing homes in the area, and instead direct that electricity to the growing demand from Nevada data centers. Northern Nevada is one of the fastest-growing data-center corridors in the country. fortune.com/2026/05/12/lak…

I discussed all things data centers, corporate greed and protecting our communities on The Lore Lads by Redacted Media podcast. Thanks to Aidan and Aidan for having me on the podcast and for a great discussion! Watch the full recording at buff.ly/RqllIhs

@PA_PUC Under Pennsylvania law, the Commission’s responsibility is clear: to determine whether this merger is in the public interest. A merger that concentrates control of our water resources while expanding industrial demand and risk is not in the public interest.
English

@PA_PUC The Philadelphia Inquirer also reported that the two CEOs of these companies said that through this merger, they also would be able to more easily service AI and high-speed data centers and other new large load customers. buff.ly/12vBP0y

I testified before the @PA_PUC this week in opposition to the proposed merger of American Water & Essential Utilities. This proposed $40 billion merger would not provide any public benefit, but instead, create a mega monopoly that would increase profits & enrich shareholders

If your State Senator is not a co-sponsor (buff.ly/L7RjDQT), call them and ask why. Affordability cannot just be a slogan in an election year used to win votes if we are not willing to confront the real drivers of rising costs & who continues to benefit from them.
