It was an honour to welcome Prime Minister Takaichi to Canberra last night as we mark 50 years of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation. Japan and Australia are Special Strategic Partners, working together to support peace, stability and prosperity in our region.

I congratulate the Government and people of the Marshall Islands on their Constitution Day. In the recent, historic visit to Australia by President Dr Heine, we reaffirmed the strong ties and shared values between our two countries. I look forward to our continued partnership.

Australia and ROK agreed a Joint Statement on Energy Resource Security renewing our commitment to work together to maintain a stable, secure and reliable supply of energy including diesel and other liquid fuels.

Australia and the Republic of Korea are close friends who rely on each other for our energy needs. Thank you to @FMChoHyun for welcoming me so warmly to Seoul to discuss and coordinate our response to the unprecedented shock to energy supplies and the impact on our region.

Australia is committed to a constructive and stable relationship with China, which is in the interests of both our countries. This is my third visit to Beijing as Foreign Minister, because regular, open dialogue helps us progress our interests and manage our differences.

We also spoke about areas of difference, including consular issues, human rights, foreign interference, and regional security.

Australia will cooperate where we can, disagree where we must, and engage in the national interest. We discussed practical cooperation on energy security, including on aviation fuel, and supporting China to host APEC.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi and I held the 8th Australia-China Foreign and Strategic Dialogue in Beijing. We discussed bilateral, regional and international issues. Dialogue between our countries enables us to progress the full range of our interests and manage our differences.

It is more important than ever that we continue to engage and find ways to work together to keep fuel and goods flowing between our countries and across our region.

Australia is committed to a constructive and stable relationship with China, which is in the interests of both our countries. Today I met with China’s Vice President Han Zheng in Beijing where we had a productive discussion with a focus on energy security.

Australia and Japan are working together to strengthen our shared energy security and to shape a peaceful, stable, prosperous region. Thank you to @moteging for the warm welcome to Tokyo. As Special Strategic Partners, we’re committed to being mutually reliable trading partners.

Japan and Australia are Special Strategic Partners. Together, we will continue to support regional stability in uncertain times. Today I met with Minister of Economic Security Kimi Onoda to discuss our approaches to global energy and fuel challenges affecting our region.

Today I met with Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Akazawa in Tokyo to discuss our shared approaches to energy and fuel. Australia and Japan are committed to continuing open trade flows between our two countries in support of our shared energy security.

Today, on ANZAC Day, we remember and give thanks for the service of all of our Defence Force personnel. It was an honour to join the Dawn Service at South Australia’s War Memorial to pay tribute to those who have fallen in the service of our nation. Lest we forget.

Together with Minister Farrell this week, we finalised an agreement to strengthen the flow of fuel and other essential goods between Australia and Singapore. By working with trusted regional partners, we can stay ahead of disruptions and keep supply flowing when it counts.
