@SnakeRiverDevil @JaredRyanSears Your original post was, verbatim,
"Why is every liberal solution “the government should provide that for free”?"
English

@SenatorsOnICE @JaredRyanSears I didn’t say it was. Details matter.
English

@BeingJWood I think they're actually being destroyed by their own funders - the mess they're in right now comes from listening to Elon Thiel Altman and Zuck etc instead of actual regular Americans , not to mention AIPAC.
English

@SnakeRiverDevil @JaredRyanSears Right. So as I was saying, free ID is not a "liberal solution."
English

@SenatorsOnICE @JaredRyanSears My very red state already does this for homelessness, those without a DL etc. I’m fine with it helping disadvantaged people.
Most people can and should pay.
English

@redpillednow73 @JaredRyanSears This stuff was all already litigated to death. I don't know why anyone is surprised that Fulton County that's majority Black voted overwhelmingly for Biden in 2020.
English

@SenatorsOnICE @JaredRyanSears Oh really, haven’t been paying attention to the hearings lately have you. Georgia was fraudulent, Arizona was fraudulent, the postmaster testified under oath that the postal employee did in fact take 600k ballots across state lines illegally. The 2020 election was illegitimate
English

@SenatorsOnICE @jkuehne745 @JaredRyanSears Conveniently skipping 2020 with 2m more vores than 2024....
English

@RL78054973 @JaredRyanSears Well, when I was living back down in Texarkana, in about '92, dang of my next door neighbor over there got a ballot thing from Oklyhomee. Right in his mailbox! Can you beee-lieve that?
Danged postal service is a buncha Commies. I seen em at it, right in broad daylight!

@SenatorsOnICE @JaredRyanSears Far from secure. I received a ballot from Illinois to vote when I did not ask for it and I had informed them that I moved 6 months prior to another state. I could have voted twice.

@depression2019 No, you deliberately elected a stupid misogynist racist, who doesn't care about anything except enriching himself.

Let’s summarize where we are after a 40+ day Democrat shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security.
1) ICE and CBP are funded, thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts and the foresight of President Trump and Republicans in Congress.
2) After holding DHS and the American people hostage for over 40 days, Dems got ZERO restrictions that would prevent ICE and CBP agents from doing their jobs safely.
3) Due to Dem obstruction of the appropriations process, ICE and CBP will get even more funding through budget reconciliation.
4) Dems have once again established themselves as the “Open Borders, Defund the Police” party heading into an election.
5) Dem leadership has proven once again they can’t be trusted to make a deal.
Which begs the question if you’re a Dem senator or one of their left-wing supporters: What was this really all about?
English

@jkuehne745 @JaredRyanSears And that's a direct quote from the original bill's sponsor Chip Roy himself. It's not propaganda.
English

@SenatorsOnICE @JaredRyanSears 70% of Democrat voters support voter ID. 90% Republican voters support it.
That's pretty popular.
Sighting a case from 1993 as proof the Supreme Court is against legislation which still hasn't been been completed?
Strike 2
The authors are project 2025?
Propaganda
English

@jkuehne745 @JaredRyanSears Also it's "citing" and, yes, that is the way that precedental law works.
English

@jkuehne745 @JaredRyanSears That survey was of 3500 people and only asked about photo ID not SAVE. It certainly wasn't 90% of all Republican voters.
English

@SnakeRiverDevil @JaredRyanSears It's honestly kind of interesting that you're arguing about an extremely moderate/mainstream position by saying it's a "liberal solution."
Free ID is a bone that conservatives throw at the liberals to try to make them accept mandatory photo ID requirements.
Like 😵💫🤔
English

@JaredRyanSears @SenatorsOnICE Why is every liberal solution “the government should provide that for free”?
English

@jkuehne745 @JaredRyanSears SAVE authors

Republican Senators
Like Mike Lee says, they could blow up the filibuster if they actually care about it
So what is not "close to reality"?
English

@SenatorsOnICE @JaredRyanSears Nothing you said there is close to being reality.
English

@jkuehne745 @JaredRyanSears Sure. Look at today's news. The Senate just ran from DC so they didn't have to vote on it.
SAVE seems to be some idea of Trump, Elon, Stephen Miller, Chip Roy and Mike Lee.
It is not popular or widely accepted and goes directly against the Supreme Court.
English

@SenatorsOnICE @JaredRyanSears Haven't seen one yet, got any links?
English

@JaredRyanSears Also there is no USCIS "voter" verification system. You're just making stuff up at this point.
English

If there is a desire to enact national voter photo ID and citizenship verification laws, it must be implemented in a way that doesn't suppress eligible voters.
The Voter ID Act Proposal
1) The Social Security office will make photo IDs available to all citizens. This ID will contain a photo of the individual, Social Security number, Name, Issued Date, Expiration Date, and will state that the person is a US citizen.
2) Every US citizen can obtain a free SS photo ID once every 5 years. It expires after 10 years from the issue date. If a person can provide proof of hardship, they may be eligible for a free replacement ID sooner than 5 years.
3) The process to obtain a SS photo ID will be as straightforward as getting an online SS card replacement today with the addition of providing a photo similar to online passport renewals.
4) No citizen is required to obtain a SS photo ID.
5) Every state will be required to check photo ID at polling stations for federal elections beginning in 2028. A photo SS card must be one of the accepted forms of ID.
6) Starting in 2028 all states must require verification of citizenship when registering to vote. This must include, but is not limited to, using the USCIS Voter Verification System which uses the last 4 digits of a Social Security number to verify citizenship.
7) All states and districts must have: mail in ballot verification, online mail in ballot tracking, and curing procedures.
8) Election day is now a federal holiday.
This approach would ensure all citizens could meet photo ID and citizenship verification requirements without cost or unnecessary complications.
While there has been no meaningful amount of federal voting fraud, this should address all concerns about that possibility.
