@Crime_In_NYC A criminal moonlighting as a cop. Funneling guns that would eventually be used to kill his own people. He was on the state decertification list, terminated as a corrections officer, and Mount Vernon still handed him a badge. Shameful top to bottom.

A newly promoted Westchester detective was arrested for allegedly funneling guns to notorious Long Island gangbangers tied to a string of murders and armed robberies. Kyren Braunskill, 34, was hauled into custody in Mount Vernon Thursday morning, after being named in an 18-person indictment from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office that charged him with peddling weapons to the “48 Gang” in Riverhead. The guns were used in both fatal and non-fatal shootings, prosecutors said. Braunskill sold a 9mm Ruger pistol to a high-ranking member of the Suffolk County gang in early 2021, according to the 57-count indictment. The cop, who joined the Mount Vernon Police Department in 2022, is also accused of plotting gun buys with indicted thug Nickomas Allen and a member of another syndicate in March 2021. The following year he repeatedly offered to sell multiple firearms to senior “48 Gang” operative Jayvonte Nash, court papers said. Braunskill’s last offer to Nash came on Dec. 25, 2022 – three days before he was hired by Mount Vernon police and just over a week before he attended the Westchester Police Academy. Prosecutors said the vicious Suffolk criminal organization – of which 17 members are also charged in the indictment – is linked to two murders, eight armed robberies, five shootings and the possession of 13 illegal firearms. Prior to being hired by Mount Vernon, he was reportedly on the state decertification list for law enforcement officers. The disgraced cop had been terminated while serving as a probationary corrections officer in October 2020, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. nypost.com/2026/03/26/us-…

Why is it that ostensibly "important" people never show an interest and combatting the distribution of dangerous drugs like PCP and K2? ───────────── The 49-year-old speedster who killed one man and wounded four others in a wild Harlem crash had smoked marijuana and taken PCP before getting behind the wheel, prosecutors said Saturday. Kevin Crosby was speeding down a bus only lane on W. 125th St. and Frederick Douglas Blvd. at about 8 p.m. Thursday when he hit two e-bike delivery workers, sending them “hurtling through the air,” according to prosecutors and court documents. Crosby’s out-of-control red Hyundai Tucson with South Carolina plates also hit two other cars and a police cruiser during the wild ride. Crosby finally came to a stop after slamming into and wedging his SUV under an 18-wheeler truck parked nearby. The Hyundai sent off sparks as it charged down W. 125th St. moments after striking the two cyclists. One of his victims was thrown into the air as he passed, the video shows. Startled shoppers were knocked off their feet as Crosby blew by them. Struck e-bike rider Darly Zacharias, 28, was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he died from his injuries. The second e-biker, 37, was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. Three other victims, a 40-year-old in a parked Toyota RAV4 and two men, ages 28 and 23, in a parked Lexus, were rushed to Harlem Hospital with minor injuries. The Tucson hit both vehicles before slamming into the police cruiser and the tractor-trailer, cops said. Crosby wasn’t seriously hurt in the crash and was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, manslaughter and driving while impaired by drugs. He was clearly intoxicated when cops pulled the Bronx resident out of the mangled Hyundai, court papers note. Crosby later admitted that he had smoked PCP that morning, then smoked marijuana before driving, Hong said. Prosecutors added that Crosby has an extensive criminal history with 21 arrests stretching back to the 1990s. Over the last three decades, he’s been arrested for gunpoint robbery, drug possession, assault, criminal trespass and in 2007 he was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a license, officials said. In 2022 Crosby was convicted of reckless driving and reckless endangerment for colliding with a parked Toyota and a coffee truck in the Bronx. The truck was knocked onto the sidewalk. Three people were hurt in that crash, officials said. Crosby ultimately pleaded guilty and was given probation. nydailynews.com/2026/03/21/out…

Taxi driver carjacked at gunpoint in Midtown Manhattan ────────────── A man with a firearm carjacked a taxi driver "Sunday" [they must mean Saturday] in Midtown Manhattan. The incident occurred at 12:27 p.m. at 450 W. 33rd St., within the confines of the NYPD's 10th Precinct, according to police. Officers responding to a 911 call were told by the victim, a 53-year-old male taxi driver, that he was parked at the location when an unidentified man entered his cab and displayed a firearm. The suspect then fled northbound on 10th Avenue in the stolen vehicle. Police tracked the taxi to the intersection of Canal Street and Lafayette Street, in the 5th Precinct. The vehicle was recovered at that location. A person of interest was taken into custody. The investigation remains ongoing. No injuries were reported. BREAKING. Every Nvidia GPU is made by TSMC. Every Apple processor is made by TSMC. Every AMD chip that matters is made by TSMC. TSMC manufactures 90 percent of the world’s most advanced logic chips on an island that imports 97 percent of its energy and has 11 days of natural gas in reserve. The war in the Persian Gulf just put the future of artificial intelligence on an 11-day clock that nobody in Silicon Valley is counting. Taiwan has no oil fields. No gas reserves. No domestic energy of any consequence. One-third of its LNG comes from the Middle East, with Qatar as the dominant supplier. Qatar’s Ras Laffan complex, which processed roughly one-third of the world’s helium before Iranian strikes shut it down, is offline for repairs that QatarEnergy’s CEO says will take three to five years. Taiwan’s mandatory LNG reserve is 11 days. South Korea holds 52. Japan holds three weeks. Taiwan holds the least backup of any major semiconductor economy on Earth and manufactures more advanced chips than all of them combined. Helium is the molecule the market is not pricing. It cools the extreme ultraviolet lithography systems that print transistors at 3 nanometres. It purges etching chambers of contamination. It tests wafer seals. There is no substitute. Without helium, the EUV machines that print every advanced chip on the planet stop. Not slow down. Stop. SK Hynix sourced 64.7 percent of its helium from Qatar. Taiwan relies on Qatar for the majority of its supply. Since the strikes, helium spot prices have surged 40 to 100 percent. Fitch Ratings flagged South Korea and Taiwan as the most exposed semiconductor economies. Bloomberg reported that if shortages intensify, TSMC will be forced to prioritise production of higher-margin AI chips over less profitable components. TSMC will choose Nvidia over your iPhone. That is not a prediction. It is a triage protocol dictated by the physics of a gas that just stopped arriving. TSMC says operations are normal and it is monitoring the situation. Its shares have fallen 7 percent since the war began. Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs says supplies are secured through April and half of May, with negotiations ongoing for June. The ministry described the situation as a controllable risk. It also announced plans to raise the mandatory minimum LNG reserve from 11 days to 14 days starting next year. You do not raise a minimum reserve during a crisis unless the current minimum terrifies you. The deeper layer is strategic. The war has diverted two US carrier strike groups and an amphibious ready group to the Persian Gulf. The Pacific naval presence that deters Chinese pressure on Taiwan is thinner than at any point since the regional crisis began in 2023. Beijing does not need to invade. It needs to signal. A military exercise near Taiwan during a helium shortage and an LNG cliff would achieve through perception what a blockade achieves through force. The actuarial warfare that closed Hormuz commercially through insurance withdrawal could close the Taiwan Strait using the same mechanism. Seven reinsurance letters shut Hormuz in five days. The Taiwan Strait is 110 miles wide. If the risk model changes, the letters follow. The strait is 21 miles wide. The chip is 3 nanometres small. The helium that connects them just stopped flowing. And the island that makes every AI chip on Earth has around 11 days of gas and a government that just admitted it needs more. Full analysis: open.substack.com/pub/shanakaans…
