It’s common for sheep to be moved around more frequently for tupping. Safe and efficient sheep handling facilities are vital. To help reduce stress, it’s best practice to move handling equipment to the sheep. #BestPractice

David scanned 33 cows this morning , very happy with results. 31 out of 33 in calf and 2 cows empty. So with the 31 cows + my 11 incalf heifers, il be milking 42 in 2025 , all going good 🙂🤞 The Sensehub collors has definitely been a game changer this year 👍

Decrease infectious pressure in your youngstock by reducing group contact. Increased hygiene measures can also reduce the spread of disease and help calves reach their full life-time potential. #HerdFutures #Youngstock

At this time of year, fly control is essential to reduce the risk of summer mastitis. If it stays hot for any length of time, there’ll be a lot more flies on farm so it’s important to treat your herd to combat the spread of disease. Speak to your vet for advice. #Farm365

Weighing lambs regularly at this time of year is a very useful indicator for assessing growth, identifying poor performers and picking up on detrimental parasite burdens. A combination of weighing and /or faecal egg count (FEC) should ideally be performed at least monthly.🐑

Now’s the best time of year to take action against flies, before egg and larvae begin to develop. Prevention is much more effective than trying to tackle a huge population mid-summer. ☀️ 🐮 #Dairy365 #TeamDairy

Don’t forget the importance of robust biosecurity measures if you’re welcoming people onto your farm during lambing. Make certain every visitor disinfects their footwear when entering and exiting your farm. #Lambing2024
