📰 #서현 | Seohyun successfully concludes classical collaboration challenge and donates proceeds to charity....a touching melody created by sincerity "On the evening of the 13th, Seohyun appeared on stage as an amateur violin soloist and special guest at the 'Sol Philharmonic Orchestra 8th Regular Concert' held at Lotte Concert Hall in Songpa, Seoul. She successfully finished the performance to warm applause from the audience that filled the roughly 2,000-seat hall. During the preparation period, Seohyun showed a sincere and serious attitude toward the stage, carrying out high-intensity practice sessions lasting 8 to 10 hours every day. In particular the piece she selected to perform, Vittorio Monti’s “Csárdás,” is a difficult work characterized by dazzling technique and sudden tempo changes, making it a very bold challenge for an amateur. However Seohyun completed the piece with her characteristic immersion and passion, personally proving that this performance was not merely a one time event but a pure challenge toward music. The encore piece that brought the performance to its close was Girls’ Generation’s debut song 'Into the New World'. As the familiar melody was played on the violin in harmony with the orchestra’s arrangement, the audience was moved and the concert hall was soon filled with a standing ovation. The meaning of this performance did not remain only in the music on stage. Seohyun not only took part in the concert in the form of a talent donation without receiving a separate soloist fee, and also joined in the decision to donate the concert’s proceeds to support socially vulnerable groups such as orchestras for people with disabilities, showing a model example of positive influence. Right after the performance, Seohyun shared her thoughts through her agency, saying, 'My skills may still be lacking, but it was a time I sincerely enjoyed preparing with all my heart. 📷 #서현 | Seohyun Instagram Update: It was a great honor for me to take on a new challenge in my life through this performance, and it was a happy time spent full of gratitude. I want to sincerely express my thanks to everyone who played together with me. Every moment spent together with people who love music was very precious to me, and it remains a valuable experience through which I gained several realizations. When I first decided to take on this challenge, I think fear actually came first. I was invited as a special guest collaborator for an amateur performance, and although it was a concert meant as a kind of festival for hobbyists who love music, it's also true that I felt a lot of pressure and burden wondering whether I could really perform my first violin performance well on such a big stage. But while preparing for this performance I received the encouragement and support of many incredible people, and little by little I was able to set aside my doubts about my lacking self and face this test with a happy heart. Above all, I deeply thank teacher Kim Hyunjung, who sincerely cheered me on more than anyone and generously taught me everything from the beginning. I also sincerely thank conductor Cho Sangwook, who always gave me courage with warm encouragement and praise. And to each and every wonderful member, including the representatives of the Sol Orchestra who joined together with a love for music and passionate enthusiasm, to all the acquaintances who sent warm support, and to the fans and all the audience members who came to watch the performance, it was thanks to your heartfelt support that I was able to cast all the pressure behind me and find the courage. Though our playing was clumsy, thank you once again from the bottom of my heart for being with us and listening to our performance that carried our sincerity. Going forward as well, I hope that classical music can come a little closer into more people’s everyday lives and be together with them as a small joy. 🎼🖤
