Saint Simeon was the 12th century founder of the Serbian state. The banner alongside the tifo read: “May our faith lead you to victory.” UEFA fined the club €40,000 specifically for the religious display, calling it “a message deemed inappropriate for a sporting event” that “undermined the reputation and integrity of football and UEFA itself.” The total fine across all charges was €95,500. The remaining fines were for pyrotechnics, throwing objects, and blocked stairways.
