It was Oct 2023 FPV drones were still new in the battlefield. With Ukranians leading the way on their deployment. During this time it was more common to employ drones dropping grenades. And prior HAMAS had loaded on Yazin-2 RPGs to deal with Armor. They had 0 trained FPV drones operators.

Why didn’t Hamas have these post October 7th? It would have made an IDF occupation of Gaza and all the bulldozer demolition work impossible

Brother. You are correct. The point I am making is to understand "war" we must also study the political context and changing polical goals. Insurgency/guerrilla war/people's war are not some unicorn of warfare that defies logic. Problem is most people think of war a measurement of numbers (men, weapons, materials, and battles), and nothing else.

@SergDPurge @Clint_Davey1 For every instance of a successful insurgency, there are hundreds of failed ones. The default is insurgencies lose. The only exception is when there's an interested third party-a foreign empire using them as proxies, a traitorous political force in the counter-insurgents.

Vietnam and Rhodesia are the same historical pattern. Indeed, a lot of professional mercenaries fought in both. I watched a BBC news story on the Rhodesian Bush War from 1978. The media was absolutely not neutral in this war. The reporter basically claims that the war is impossible to win because it's an insurgency and you can't beat the Maoist strategy of insurgents hiding amongst the civilians. Its exactly the same as Walter Cronkite in Vietnam. Saying the war is impossible to win because its an insurgency. This becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. And its absolute crap. These wars were not lost on the battlefield and they were not lost in the "hearts and minds" of the civilian population. When London or Washington want an enemy population to be actually defeated, they can certainly do it. The results of these wars were entirely decided by higher level politics that had nothing to do with the battlefield.

Didn't watch it. I knew it wasn't going to be good, damn its bad. It's sad to see Uthman being so beholden to UAE (and the Gulf Monarchies in general). I respect Shaykh Uthman Ibn Farooq for his Dawah efforts, and I have spoken to him many times. I hold no ill will towards him, but the way he dealt with brother Daniel—what many might call an 'ambush'—was unfair and unethical. And I believe this isn't the first time. As Muslims, we should be able to have one-on-one conversations despite our significant differences, without resorting to such unsolicited tactics. It's not about 'winning' but about better understanding each other’s positions so that the truth becomes clearer.
