My kind of lunch break

Almost half a sketchbook filled with drafts and explorations for just one logo. Not counting other notebooks and loose sheets. That’s the usual process and volume for me. Behind one seemingly simple wordmark lies a huge amount of rough sketches. The most time‑consuming part.

It took me exactly 99 (!) sketches to find the right shape I had in mind for the new @screenstudio logo. Literally dreamt about it at night till I nailed the sketched and digital version. There's no end to cool stuff you can make if you really take the time.

@TyNoryan Hi Ty! Thank you! I didn't use path offsets, just shapes. And I always start with sketching.

@Serhos Hi Sergey! Amazing work. Did you redraw this iteration from scratch or experimented with path offsets? Definitely easier to read. Doing these these from scratch is on another level. 👏

A surprisingly common issue actually. You’re often your own client from hell. I’ve always sidestepped this issue by hiring @Serhos. (3x) A fresh outside perspective actually goes a long way. 💡

Morning starts with revisions for the work of a previous contractor. Employer refuses to pay, states, I have to do it because we are married.

@Serhos @WdeB Oh yes I totally understand! Happens all the time.

A cafe in Hamburg is using one of my logos. The designer just... “borrowed” my design. 🙈 I was asked today: "What's the weirdest thing that has ever happened with your logo?" Told them about this cafe that paid for a copy of the logo I made for @WdeB’s startup Gibbon in ‘15.
