Blogging about Richard Armitage since Feb 2010. Unrelated to the historical Servetus, except temperamentally.

This is not fun anymore, even from time to time. It's only idiocy. In future here only occasionally for newsgathering. Blog will still distribute from here for your convenience. To talk, message me at my blog, or if you're a friend (beyond social media) you know how to find me.

@conor64 You miss the political context here, which is the ongoing fight between the state legislature and the UW System in the *actual* (not abstract) state of Wisconsin. Politics is local.

@lithub re: the Odyssey article -- it's "my father and me." "Me" is part of a compound direct object of the verb (past participle) "to help" and should be in the accusative case. Old teacher trick: would you say "helped ... I"? If not, it's "me."

@JDavidsonNYC If you knew something about the 1790s, you would know why (1) the QOTN role was written as a woman and (2) showing her as old and disabled is a deepening of the original work's political significance. I find your reviews consistently underinformed.

@KathrynLewek @MetOpera In our little cinema in northeastern Wisconsin: you BLEW US AWAY. Loud clapping and some cheers from a normally subdued audience. You are amazing!

Nearly 30 years ago, I stepped into @metopera, mesmerized by rising chandeliers and dimming lights. Today I'm celebrating a new milestone, and I'm thrilled opera fans worldwide will witness my 50th performance as Queen both in the audience and through our Live in HD broadcast.
