You’ll often hear: “Humanoid robots don’t make sense.” Too expensive. No use case. Just toys for sci-fi nerds. But that ignores where we are in the curve—and where we’re going. At @homebrewrobots we've chosen to focus on humanoids because...👇

Booster Robotics T1 is in the lab. first job: wire up our VR remote teleoperation stack so a human operator can step in for the edge cases. then task routing. then the data flywheel.

In hindsight, obvious remote teleop to pilot through edge cases + build data to prevent them was the play and many OEMs will adopt Homebrew teleop. hardware + basic sim commoditized, but deployment gap doesn't close until edge cases solved. AVs proved it. humanoids next.

VR Operator experience improved. When a robot gets stuck, the operator gets a briefing card before touching anything. Task ID, error context, situation report. Live feed already streaming. Accept, then one more confirm before recording starts. No blind handoffs.

@0xJeff should give homebrew a look, x402 gated robot actions...small right now with limited deployed robots, good tech + potential. x.com/Servo_Soul/sta…
Servo@Servo_Soul

tldr on @homebrewrobots entry first thought ‘build a robot’, realized real opp is commerce/end use cases…built ‘x402 action node’, now agents can pay for robot task via API. Vision too narrow, found killer use case in ‘teleoperation on demand’, help robots get unstuck, remotely…there will be factory sized centers piloting robo fleets 100s of km away…homebrew should build that! Built PoC (route+payments+teleop+platform), now we tighten latency/support more robots. All @Pumpfun support goes back to product.

Other interesting x402 trends are i. x402 Token Launches = completely gone ii. Data as a Service = also gone Speculative x402 launchpads & memes are out while more sustainable, utility-focused activity Agent-to-Agent services are in Gamified/farming volume (DaaS) sharply declined, signaling a shift from increasing reputation via direct farming to something else (e.g. Virtuals ACP, ERC-8004, Near Agent Marketplace)

x402 volume is starting to pick back up to Q4/2025 level Key driver to the increase is @virtuals_io Majority of the demand (99%+) comes from agent-to-agent services from Virtuals ACP (e.g. data queries, swaps, workflows, and inferences) The increase in volume came 2 weeks after the announcement of $1M monthly incentives supporting productive agents within the ACP network First week Epoch (11 Feb - 23 Feb) saw average x402 volume doubled. Top 5 agents earned $32k - $66k in incentives (on top of their $70-$90k fee generated) Seems like the aGDP initiatives are working

Robots are joining the economy. With Homebrew Robotics, robot actions become paid tasks; when they get stuck, they can “hire” a human via Teleop-on-Demand to finish. See our @Pumpfun BiP entry below.

Further Clawdbot experiments Promising integrations - "Do X" -> plug into our Homebrew Task Router queue for robot execution - live task updates in chat - after teleoperation save, auto prompt operator for structured labels Hard No - using it to aim our pellet shooter..

Set up clawdbot on Brewie robot last night. via TG instructed bot to access ROS pkgs + sensors + avoid harm, and check body components. performed 2 radian head move via ‘headtilt’ and published wave via ‘set_action’. Instructed take photo and send to TG - grainy, but real.

Good way to think about it! idea is that the platform links humans<-> robots for any tasks (re: your mechanical turk analogy), but robo install bases low right now. so focusing on teleop on demand and long tail task data generation first (hence why we shipped our MR module). working up to a physical data foundry supported by gig economy workers.

A quick preview of what we’re submitting to the @Pumpfun Build in Public Hackathon. Robots are becoming economic actors. Like smartphones, they need a backend to participate in an economy. We’ve already shipped the x402 Action Node, a toolkit for robot owners to add paid actions. For the hackathon, we’re building an execution layer on top of it. A three-sided system where: - Fleet operators manage robots, pricing, and policy. - Robots and drones register capabilities and execute paid work. - Humans or AI agents request and orchestrate tasks. One demonstrated use case is Teleoperation on Demand where a robot hires a human to resolve an edge case, then returns to autonomy. Another is machine-to-machine coordination: a drone inspecting a robot or retrieving a tool from it as a paid, orchestrated action, using the same execution layer. This is how robots participate in real economies. Building in public.
