Almost *all* of these elections did *not* have “same day” results. The 1788–89 election alone *took* 23 days. But including the Elections of 1800, 1824, and 1876 is pretty strong evidence that you have absolutely no idea what the heck you’re talking about.

Maybe the US would have competitive third parties if the candidates fielded by those parties weren't consistently cranks, grifters, and liars. The fact is, we in the US have a duopoly because the major parties have a history of raising much broader tents than elsewhere.
