While I'm unlikely to add any more features to the site, I really would like to keep it updated for as long as Riot will let me.

It's been a while since I've done much with LOR.GG or even LoR, but I actually deployed a couple of small changes for the first time in ~3 months yesterday. Unfortunately, this cards API issue scares me for the future of the LoR API.
LOR.GG@LORGG__

It has now been 4 days since Lux's card reveal and the cards API has yet to be updated with any of the new cards recently shown. The cards API from Riot (usually) updates right as the cards are showed on their public platforms.

As I scroll through everyone's thoughts, I'm just feeling more defeated. My situation is a bit different from others in the community. While I enjoyed the game, my passion was really making this site. Even though I learned so much, it feels like it was for nothing. Thread...

@ABG_Tyguy By this, I just mean someone could start out with the card text / stats. And then someone else could discover the name / flavor. And another community member will make the art for the card. Each component could then be individually voted on to complete the card.

@ABG_Tyguy Other than the promotion / marketing of a game, I think the community collaboration platform could be greatly improved for both of these games. My idea is that someone could create one component they're familiar with and others could round out the card by doing the other parts.

An idea I come back to every now and then is a card game completely driven and created by the community. Some additional details in the thread below. I'm curious if anyone else thinks this could be a good idea.

@LORGG__ as a professional I dont think this is impossible, and I agree that the chunky pieces (cards) allow for better community input than many other types of games (e.g. a 3rd person action RPG) but designing the right structure for that process would be trickier than designing a game

@plinq_uncharted @LORGG__ And that's not even including the additional steps with giving fair compensation to the people who participated in development.

@plinq_uncharted @LORGG__ I appreciate the input so much! I don't disagree at all. Not only would the actual programming to allow for a collaborative environment be a bit difficult, but encouraging the community to put in the work would be a difficult task.

Some additional ideas in bullet points - open source - profit sharing - free-to-play friendly - competitive + casual players - cosmetics

Like mods, but streamlined and integrated into the game directly.

I feel like guardians moving across the board like TFT's little legends would do so well. I've also been wondering how difficult it'd be to introduce little legends that are already made in TFT into LoR.

I wish the best to everyone who contributed on making this game great, including the engineers, designers, content creators, and the community as a whole. Truly a one-of-a-kind game.

I went into this week thinking I could help out the competitive scene with a new tournament feature. And now it feels like Riot just stomped all over LoR and the pvp experience. Hoping for the best on 2/2.
