In December 1993, U.S. Army Sgt. Stephen Schap discovered his estranged wife Diane was pregnant by his best friend, Spc. Gregory Glover. Schap sta*bed and decap*tated Glover, then carried the s*vered head in a gym bag to the hospital where his wife was being treated. He already had a vasectomy. He knew the baby could not be his. He walked out of the hospital and within thirty minutes had figured out who it was. He found Glover at a payphone on the base, mid-call with Diane. With Diane still on the line, Schap confronted him. He stabbed Glover fifteen times, then dec*pitated him. He carried out the k*lling in front of witnesses who saw him flee with the head. He placed the head in a gym bag, returned to the hospital, walked into Diane's room, unzipped the bag, placed the head on her bedside tray table and physically forced her to look at it. He told her: "Look Diane, Glover's here. He'll sleep with you every night now." Schap was court-martialled for the m*rder of Gregory Glover in April 1994 and found guilty of premeditated m*rder. The mandatory life sentence was reduced by the convening authority to 45 years. Diane Schap testified against her husband at trial, confirming the affair and that Glover was the father of her child.

Iowa State is where Jones met Haliburton, who was a star for the Cyclones before jumping to the NBA in 2020. We're told Kern passed away on June 8 -- around the time the group was slated to return to the United States and two days after her birthday. Prior to Kern's death, Jones shared pictures from the trip ... saying, "hopped on a flight to cloud 9." Kern was included in several group shots ... showing everyone enjoying their time together in preparation for Jones' wedding day Jones, Haliburton, and the rest of the bridal party have yet to comment on the loss.

Two best friends drove from Boston to New Mexico in the summer of 1999 with barely any water and no idea how to read a map. Four days later, one of them was d*ad and the other had k*lled him. Raffi Kodikian and David Coughlin were college friends in their mid-twenties. On August 4 they arrived at Rattlesnake Canyon in Carlsbad Caverns National Park and made camp. They had brought just three pints of water and one pint of Gatorade between them, and used a full pint to boil hot dogs on their first night. They got lost. The heat was brutal and the water ran out fast. Neither man knew how to read the topographical map they had brought with them. On the eve of the k*lling, Kodikian wrote in his journal: "We will not let the buzzards get us alive. God forgive us." Coughlin wrote to his girlfriend: "I am in utter agony and I know you would understand." The following day, Coughlin begged Kodikian to k*ll him. Kodikian testified he initially refused. Then he stabbed his best friend twice in the heart and covered his body with boulders. The detail that haunted the case: the autopsy showed Coughlin's dehydration was well short of critical. He would have survived. And they were never more than a few miles from a marked trail and their car. Kodikian pleaded no contest to second-degree m*rder and was sentenced to two years in prison. He served 16 months.
