Everyone who is up in arms about Trump "kissing Xi's ass" needs to understand that this is realpolitik and dealmaking. Trump is, by a mile, the most aggressive president America has had against the CCP in modern history. No one else imposed sweeping tariffs on Chinese goods, banned Huawei from domestic networks, put the entire CCP military-linked ecosystem on the entity list, restricted semiconductor exports, strengthened the Quad, and publicly called out China's currency manipulation, IP theft, forced tech transfers, and South China Sea aggression the way he did. Pre-presidency Trump was blunt. If you recall, as a candidate, he often complained about how "China was screwing us over." Literally in 2016 on the campaign trail, he said that "China is raping us." You need to understand that this posture completely shattered what was bipartisan elite consensus at the time - which was that more engagement with China on economic terms would liberalize and democratize China (ethnocentric projection once again), and that as China became more integrated into the global system, they would act more and more like responsible stakeholders. Every President since Nixon pushed closer economic integration while ignoring the OBVIOUS signs. This was especially supercharged under Bush, Clinton and Obama (but not Biden). And yet at the time, the mainstream media painted him as a xenophobe for this kind of rhetoric. It wasn't even a subtext - they directly alluded to how Trump was being racist against the Chinese for calling out their unfair trade practices. Once in office, Trump refined it into a strategy that actually moved the needle while dialing back his strong rhetoric. The personal flattery - calling Xi a "great leader," talking up respect for China, saying they'll have a "fantastic future together," is all Machiavellian Art of the Deal stuff. Flattery costs nothing and makes the other guy more willing to give ground without looking like he's folding domestically. The CCP's entire system is built on the leader's prestige. Publicly humiliating Xi or treating him like a subordinate would make him dig in, rally nationalists, and push him to retaliate harder just to save face. I don't actually think Trump knows about Chinese "honor culture" and the obsession with mianzi (face), but for whatever reason, Trump instinctively understands authoritarian psychology and how to work with it. The problem is that intellectual types, especially those steeped in liberal internationalist frameworks, tend to struggle with parsing the difference between rhetoric vs. revealed preferences. They're hard-wired to overweight the former. They treat diplomatic language as a window into the soul, as if it maps directly onto intent rather than as front-facing tool of statecraft. China weaponizes this brilliantly. It's a lesson everyone should've learned by now. With Trump, ignore the optics and ignore what he says. Just look at his actions, and look at his results.
Disclose.tv@disclosetv

NOW - Trump to Xi: "We're going to have a fantastic future together. I have such respect for China. The job you've done. You're a great leader. I say it to everybody. You're a great leader."

I guess a lot of people will be gritting their teeth silently regretting coming here. Could have come with a warning sticker saying 'caution, immigration remorse may occur at any time' or something like that. But hey it's only that 42% of your nurses are immigrants, not like that's an important fact. It's hard to just get up and leave so we're going to have to try and tolerate each other until that time comes.

GREAT REPLACEMENT UPDATE: New Zealand, May 2026 In the year to March 2026 New Zealand had 135,500 migrant arrivals, 111,300 migrant departures, and a net migration gain of 24,200. Here’s where they’re coming from: Returning Kiwis: 26,300 China: 18,500 India: 17,000 Philippines: 10,500 Sri Lanka: 5,200 Australia: 4,600 United Kingdom: 4,500 United States: 4,400. Noteworthy that there are more coming from China than India now. In terms of net gain: +60,800 non-NZ citizens, and a net loss -36,500 New Zealand citizens. New national population estimates for the year ended December 2025 show: - NZ’s population grew by 34,300 - Natural increase (births minus deaths) was 20,100 - Net migration (arrivals minus departures) was 14,200. The population increase and the contribution of migration to it is surprisingly low, so that’s a small amount of good news - although a large proportion of the births now are from immigrant groups. Bottom line: The Great Replacement in New Zealand continues, albeit at a slower rate than under the Ardern government. Read more - stats.govt.nz/news/net-migra…

I'm buying a Tesla bot for mum as soon as they come out. Provided it's under 30k. Robots are 100% going to solve our aging population issue. It's just that if robots are doing the work then who is getting paid? It will be a slow transition and I can see how it will make a difference in my work but at some point the when the robot totally replaces me then what? What's the point of it all?

@Lolita721611021 How can allowing a place to decline into desititution be in the interests of the global elites. I just don't get it, it's not sustainable and what do they actually get out of it at the end?

You know I think that te reo cafe is more likely than not to go broke. Not because of the language. Just because hospitality is a risky business and most people who go into business fail. But every person who’s ever tried it is 10x braver than anyone who hasn’t. Good on anyone who gives it a go.

Perhaps the minister could explain why she thinks the population needs to keep rising even if NZers themselves prefer to have fewer children on average or, in many cases, to decamp to better opportunities in Australia. Genuinely puzzling stuff.co.nz/politics/36097…

Today, a CIA whistleblower sat before my committee and confirmed what I've said for years: government officials, including Dr. Fauci, deliberately misled the American people about the origins of COVID-19. This is not a conspiracy theory. This is sworn testimony. 🧵

If Winston and Chris's goal is to pit established residents against newer ones then they are doing a great job. A less devisive statement could be "The Kiwi dream should be protected and extended sustainably for those who call NZ Home through controlled immigration and not open ended growth."

Chris Hipkins has said today that “The kiwi dream should not be reserved for the few, it should be delivered for everybody who calls New Zealand home.” He has just called New Zealanders “the few” and that “everybody” should be delivered what we have built. The ‘kiwi dream’ belongs to kiwis who have worked hard for our country, invested time, sweat, pride, and belongs to the generations who share in our country’s history. It is not for just anybody around the world who decides to come to our great country that we have built for their convenience. Politicians like Hipkins use “diversity is a strength” to shut you down, but the choice is in your hands, not in the hands of retail globalists like him.

This is an India-India FTA We're required to teach them our growing skills for the very products we're led to believe they will import from us... NZ's National Interest Analysis (NIA): "The goods market outcomes for apples, kiwifruit and honey are linked to economic cooperation action plans agreed by New Zealand and India under the FTA, under which New Zealand has made commitments to contribute towards activities that will support the development of the Indian apples, kiwifruit, and honey sectors. Should New Zealand not fulfil the relevant obligations or commitments in the Agreement, under Annex 2B, India may request consultations and, if no mutually agreed solution is reached, India may rebalance its concessions to New Zealand and may suspend market access for the relevant product. This must be reinstated if New Zealand meets the relevant obligation or commitment or a mutually agreed solution is reached."

Sean Ackland I am convinced that Paul Goldsmith may be the best man for the worst people Because in this term he has truely stood out as the most effective when it comes to advancing the most, extreme, radical and far-reaching of policy directions While somehow managing to do so with minimal public scrutiny. Because Goldsmith has been the driving force behind the most far-reaching, dangerous and radical reform this government has proposed. Reform that will have long-term consequences for voting access, media accountability, public discourse, and now environmental and corporate accountability. Has scrapped same day enrolment to dissuade people from voting Has targeted our free press by using his influence to intimidate news agencies to be more favorable to his government He has scrapped the BSA making easier to spread disinformation that favors this government as well as making the media space less safe for the vulnerable and marginalized And now, here he is again. Blocking communities from pursuing lawsuits against large corporate polluters through the courts. I’ll be honest, I underestimated this man. I thought he was just another in a long line of pretentious pontificating blow hard, blue bloods. I was wrong. He is an EFFECTIVE pretentious pontificating blow-hard, blue blood.

So the Indians 🇮🇳 are running a scam in USA where they say their business gets funding & employs 540 Indian 🇮🇳 students but when Ice turn up there are 3 students on site 🥴🥴🙄🙄 Gee i wonder if this is happening in New Zealand 🥴🥴🙄🙄
Eric Daugherty@EricLDaugh

🚨 HOLY SMOKES. ICE has just announced a jaw-dropping fraud bust, saying 10,000 FOREIGN students are involved in the federal government's Optional Practical Training There are EMPTY BUILDINGS where HUNDREDS of students should be "working" as part of their ability to be in America — run by foreign-linked groups that send money out of the country! Locked doors, hundreds of students sharing the SAME ADDRESS, and "employers" sharing the same unleased addresses There is a widespread "phantom employee" fraud going on. This is insane. Many of the so-called "employers" have major red flags, such as facing lawsuits, no employment records, offshore payroll claims, and suspicious INTERNATIONAL MONEY flows "HSI agents have visited problematic OPT employer work sites in Virginia, Texas, Georgia, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Florida." "Foreign students themselves are entering false addresses and employer names into the student and exchange visitor information system." "But we are uncovering evidence of organized fraud that spans national and international borders. This is not accidental. It is deliberate, coordinated, and criminal." "To give you an example, one employer we visited claimed to employ only three foreign students through OPT, while our records show over 500 foreign students claiming to work there." "The company's representatives were unable to answer basic questions about the business and deferred HR managers in India." "OPT employers are required to directly train foreign students, but we've seen multiple examples of alleged employers claiming that all management is overseas in India." "We've also discovered multiple state networks which are large networks of alleged employers claiming to train thousands of foreign students in OPT, then farming them out to unreported third party employers, making oversight nearly impossible and raising serious national security issues."
