When offenders leave prison it has to be with a one way ticket, not a return. But more than 38% of offenders currently go on to reoffend within a year of release. That has to change. The evidence shows that curfew tags reduce reoffending by 20%. Since starting this job I’ve been determined to follow the evidence to make decisions that cut crime and prevent future victims.

Yesterday I was a part of a #CEDAWinLAW delegation to deliver a letter to the PM, calling for mediation to end the economic injustice dealt to millions of 1950s-born women by the state. I will continue to support and fight for the thousands of impacted women in West Derby.

My big cousin Cath ook me to see the Four Tops at the Liverpool Empire I was 11 yr old Reach Out was no 1 in the hit parade. My first concert I will never forget the excitement the diversity of the audience and the sheer joy singing and dancing to I can't help myself.

Abdul "Duke" Fakir, the last original member of the Four Tops, passed away at 88 in Detroit. As first tenor, Duke helped define the Motown Sound with hits like "I Can't Help Myself" and "Reach Out, I'll Be There" and will be sadly missed.
