Troops under Operation Wutan Daji have rescued 12 kidnapped victims and arrested key aides of a fleeing bandit kingpin during coordinated clearance operations across the Plateau–Taraba forest axis. The offensive, carried out by troops of the 33 Artillery Brigade alongside an ONSA tactical team on April 15–16, targeted criminal hideouts in the Dajin Madam and Kumbodoro forests. Sustained military pressure forced the captors to flee, enabling the victims to escape. They have since been secured for profiling and moved to an IDP facility in Fukuk. Items recovered during the operation include a Dane gun, a locally fabricated AK-47 rifle and a power bank.

🚨 POTENTIAL CRISIS ALERT 🚨 The Islamic cleric who placed a million naira bounty on the head of the pastor accused of blasphemy has restated his resolve “…whoever fulfills that requirement (beh3ading the pastor), I swear to Allah I’ll give him that money (one million naira), no retreat… we have nothing to lose if after beh3ading this pastor Arewa plunges into chaos…” The Government should urgently address the potential religious crisis arising from their religious statements. This could involve cautioning them or even prosecuting them if necessary.

NIGERIAN ARMY INTENSIFIES ONSLAUGHT ON BANDITS, OVERRUNS CAMPS, CAPTURES FAMILIES, DESTROYS LOGISTICS IN BAUCHI FOREST The Nigerian Army has continued to record significant successes in its ongoing clearance operations against bandit elements, as troops sustain offensive actions across identified criminal enclaves in Bauchi. In continuation of ongoing operations, troops of 33 Artillery Brigade, in conjunction with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) team, conducted a clearance operation within the Dajin Madam Forest. The operation resulted in the successful clearing of several bandit camps, including the notorious Azuge and Hari camps, further disrupting the activities of criminal elements in the area. During the operation, troops neutralized a number of bandits, while several others fled under sustained military pressure. In addition, bandits’ family members comprising 6 women and 13 children were taken into custody. Several motorcycles used by the criminals for mobility were also destroyed, further limiting their operational capability. A cache of items was recovered during the operation, including one AK-47 magazine, packs of tramadol drugs, a pair of police uniform, several military uniforms and 2 horses, all indicative of the group’s criminal activities and attempts at impersonation to commit criminalities. Troops are currently maintaining a firm hold position within the Dajin Madam Forest to consolidate on the gains achieved and prevent any re-infiltration by fleeing bandits. In a related development, troops conducted a follow-up clearance operation to Mainamaji as part of the exploitation of the general area following recent air strikes on bandit hideouts. The operation recorded no contact, further suggesting that sustained military pressure has significantly degraded the presence and movement of bandits within the area. The continued success of these operations underscores the effectiveness of ongoing military offensives and the increasing dislocation of bandit networks. The Nigerian Army remains resolute in its commitment to sustaining pressure on all criminal elements until lasting peace and security are restored. Members of the public are encouraged to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information.

Troops neutralise several terrorists in ambush operation in Borno By: Zagazola Makama Troops of the Joint Task Force, North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, have neutralised several Boko Haram terrorists during an ambush operation in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State. Security sources said the incident occurred at about 2:33 a.m. on April 13 when an ambush team of 202 Battalion deployed at Bravo Kilo sighted a terrorist crossing the parapet at a defensive company location. According to the sources, the troops engaged and neutralised five of the suspect on sight. The sources added that the operation is part of ongoing clearance and ambush missions aimed at denying terrorists freedom of movement in the North-East theatre.
