Check out the new Practice Writing mode. I find it super helpful to test my writing and receive instant feedback. Save the session to review it later. dailylingo.io

I made one huge mistake when speed running German… I became totally dependent on Translators, and as such my written German suffered. Don’t make the same mistake as I did!

I have been using the Practice Writing mode myself this week. You write in your target language, get instant corrections, and can save it to review later. Turns out seeing your own mistakes in writing hits differently than getting told about them.

@0x_null_dev Im building a platform to incorporate translations into a persons language learning journey. Solving the Translate -> Forget -> Retranslate issue so many people have. Currently looking for free Beta testers for really feedback. dailylingo.io

Founders, what are you building? Pitch it in 1 sentence.

@Kappaemme1926 Still working on it. But I’ve turned 90% of my focus onto gaining users, and reducing the friction for sign ups

getting people to care about what you build is 10x harder than building it maybe 100x

@Kappaemme1926 That is totally valid. I have been trying to do this. But now at a point where I want to completely focus on building an audience/validating.

@Sfuarf In my opinion, you need to start building a bit of an audience while you're building it so that the project might already have some users when it's ready.

@martin_dietsch @potatoslav I found the same thing! Most Germans had a really good level of English and were more than happy to switch to English.

@potatoslav German people will help you and be patient with you… Unlike French people. I have been working in German for over 5 years and when I started, I was pretty bad at it… I am an Asset Manager, people are usually not that nice… Nevertheless, everyone was patient with the language!

@dlblforever I went full exposure, it isn't for everyone and waspretty brutal. But it was the fastest way to learn... ~C1 in just under 1.5 years.

@dominbydigdug @dlblforever That helped convince me to move to Germany, but I have to say it didn't help me learn the language much. We only spoke English as she was my rest after a full day of German.

@volosatovde I built my product to do exactly that, to solve my problem. But now I’m trying to get other users involved, even after huge engagement on Reddit discussing it. At the decision point. Push on further, or leave it as a personal tool…

TLDR: I took a job in Germany with only an A2 certificate. My probation review was conducted entirely in German. I had 3 months.

After just under 1.5 years in Germany, my tutor just told me I speak at a C1 level! Still making multiples all grammatical mistakes, but absolutely stoked with the progress!

@suni_code Im building what I hope to be an upgrade to translators. In this case, a tool one can actually learn from rather than become reliant! dailylingo.io

Shoutout to people who work in their second language: Do you keep translating the same things every week? I am testing a web app designed to reduce dependence on translators over time. Looking for a few honest testers. dailylingo.io #LanguageLearning
