🚨🎖️| Bastoni’s potential move to Barça is now in doubt mainly because of Flick’s concerns. Flick reportedly has growing doubts about whether Bastoni’s technical profile fits Barça’s current and future style of play. As a result, he is asking Deco to consider other defensive options as well. [@MatteMoretto] #fcblive 🇮🇹

@BouafifNour I’ve said it many times, but he doesn’t deliver in big matches. He often falls short in big games, and even in smaller matches he’s frequently invisible. He’s good as a substitute when the opponent is more tired and he can make his move, but as a starter he’s not good enough.

I’m going to say something that might sound reactionary because of his performance last night, but it’s actually been my stance since we signed him. I think bringing in Dani Olmo was a mistake.
We already had an attacking midfielder capable of producing 30 G/A in a season, so while Olmo offers a different profile and adds depth, i think that's far from a priority.
That money could’ve been much better spent elsewhere, on a left winger, a long-term striker, a centre-back, or even a fullback. In my opinion, the squad would've been in much better position right now if we reinforced one of those positions instead of signing Olmo.
And that’s without even getting into the injury concerns we were already aware of. Maybe he proves me wrong later on, but up to now I still think it was the wrong decision, and he hasn’t really justified his price yet especially considering how valuable that fee was in our financial situation.

🚨🔥 BREAKING: Julian Alvarez is tempted by Barcelona and prefers this option over PSG/Premier League, in case he leaves. He’s open to a departure. All depends on Atletico. @ffpolo #Transfers ☎️🔵🔴💣

@reshadrahman Laporta not bringing back Messi is one of the best decisions in Barca history
English

@BouafifNour Is it just me, or do I really think Olmo shouldn't be a starter for us? In big games he doesn't deliver enough, loses the ball too much in my opinion, and doesn't score enough. On the other hand, I think he is a very good substitute. Flick likes him very much in the big games

The board has a lot of work to do this summer. We knew from the start that our defense was a problem, and winning the UCL with it wasn’t realistic, and now we’re seeing exactly why.
Eric is a very useful squad player who can cover multiple positions, but if you’re relying on him as a starting centre-back in the biggest game of the season, that’s a problem and the board holds massive responsibility in it. Because we let Iñigo go and didn’t replace him.
Then there’s Koundé, Flick managed to get a good season out of him, but he’s not at the level required for a team aiming to win the Champions League. Barça need real defensive reinforcements.
The striker situation is still an issue too. Ferran stepped up and had a great performance, full credit to him, but you can’t rely on that consistently. Not to mention that we still clearly need a proper left winger.
When you really look at it, Flick went into the biggest game of the season with a CB pairing of Martín and Eric, Koundé at right-back, Fermín on the left, and Ferran up front. Again, Ferran performed well, but overall, the level just isn’t enough for what we’re trying to achieve.
Flick deserves better than this, and honestly, I don’t know how long he’ll stay if the club doesn’t give him the players he needs. And the moment he leaves you people criticising him will understand the miracles this man have been doing.

@BarcaUniversal Can we push this transfer? IMO it's way better to get Senesi and Alvarez instead of Bastoni. Senesi is in his prime, fits the system, has years of experience in the Prem and he is free.
English

🚨 JUST IN: Marcos Senesi (linked to Barça) is on the verge of making a decision regarding his next club.
Chelsea, Man United and Tottenham are in contact with the player's agents... The rest of the clubs are further away from reaching an agreement with the player.

@LyesBouzidi10 This isn’t an enigma, it’s how Hansi Flick’s teams play — high volume, high intensity, and constant chance creation. We accept giving up some chances because of that, but the trade-off is overwhelming teams at the other end
English

@LyesBouzidi10 I hope you’ll be just as critical in your review as you were about Barca.
English

@BouafifNour You could clearly see Newcastle gaining the upper hand when Pedri went off. Apart from that moment and the first 10–15 minutes, it really wasn’t that bad.
English

@BouafifNour I don’t understand why everyone is being so dramatic about the match. It’s true that Barca didn’t play a great game, but if you look at the big chances it was fairly even. Also, it’s an away game at a difficult place like Newcastle without four starting players.
English

I feel like maybe we were too harsh on Flick and the team for their performance last night. We were playing away in a tough stadium against a very physical team while missing three of our starting back four, including one who got injured just two hours before the game.
On top of that, one of our double pivots was injured and the other had just returned from injury and wasn’t ready for a full 90. Considering all those circumstances, the poor performance becomes more understandable.
It wasn’t a good display, but it was also a fairly normal outcome given the situation. Sometimes a bad performance is simply the result of difficult circumstances rather than a deeper structural problem.
