The coaching team for next seasons youth have been announced and what a team they are, stacks of playing and coaching experience between them brings exciting times for our boys towards the end of next season once they turn 16 and can experience youth rugby first hand #uppayoof

The club has been working hard to extend the pathway from M&J to senior rugby, with the announcement of a brand new coaching team for youth rugby the final piece of the puzzle is in place, good luck to the coaches and players of next seasons @DowYoof23_24 #uppayoof #oneclub❤️🖤

Last but not least Mike (milly) Prosser. Milly is a front row nightmare who has never been seen going backwards in the scrum #militaryStatue. In play you had to run around him if you could as you weren't going through him. His playing career is glittered with success. #legend

Next up Simon Griffiths. Very mobile back row who can play 6,7,8. Always backs his fitness to get around the park and disrupt as much as possible. Has been known to fill in the back line also. Came right through Dowlais setup making next year his 25th season at Dowlais. #OldDog

After a productive meeting last night time to introduce the coaching staff. First up Adam Cullen. A hard carrying and even harder hitting backrow player who never took a backward step. Merthyr mini and junior, Ex Dowlais 1ST captain, also had a successful spell with Bargoed.

Next up Darryl Jenkins. DJ would tackle a freight train if he had to, with an unbelievable pass, who could read the game perfectly. Merthyr mini and juniors, cardiff age grade, Ebbwvale and Dowais 1st. To top it off social king who makes every outing unforgettable.

Good turn out tonight, showing what we want to achieve with the new youth setup. Talking about involving u16s right through to seniors. Thanks to coaches from different age groups and committee attending meeting also. Future looks bright ♥️🖤

Squad meeting tonight at @DowlaisRfc main hall at 7:30pm. All new and old players welcome with all abilities. This will allow us to show what we have to offer for the coming season. Still undecided come along for a look no strings attached. Parents/guardians also welcome.
