7 yrs today remembering much loved Shawlands Academy teacher Anwar Din. When 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 schools were rife with overt racism he fought tirelessly for Eid holidays, prayer rooms, anti racist lessons etc so brown/black children would be “seen”. These were the giants before us. RIP Anwar 🤲🏽

Today I turned 28 YEARS OLD. Which means 12 YEARS AGO I was on Educating Yorkshire. Over the years, teachers have helped me to push forward in all things I doubted myself I could achieve. Teachers gave me more than an education - they gave me a future. I will forever be grateful.
