Now, pay a little closer attention to actual content of the lyrics, and you’ll see that his flow from subject to subject is just as smooth as his flow of rhymes. He goes from: not mechanical -> animals -> Daniel and the lions -> biblical/spiritual contemplation -> spiritual soul -> soul singer -> pop singer (specifically “Go Deep” by Janet Jackson) -> Peyton/Eli Manning (because their throws go deep). So not only has he come up with so many disparate phrases that fit a single rhyme scheme, he’s arranged them in such a way that none of these feel like random throwaways! By contrast, I love Eminem, but I’ll also admit that some of his creative rhymes/references feel a bit forced and disconnected.

RIP DJ Screw November 16, 2000. 25 years ago today… His tapes were so popular, he had to install a gate to keep people out of his house & control customer flow. Cars would line up for blocks. Houston PD searched his house many times after receiving complaints from neighbors
