A shocking and despicable incident of animal cruelty has come to light in Pimpri-Chinchwad, where a 35-year-old man was arrested for unnaturally assaulting a stray dog. The incident, which occurred late at night on May 19 near a cafe in the Ravet area, was entirely captured on CCTV footage. The video showed the accused wandering half-naked before committing the horrific act on the footpath. Following immense outrage and a prompt complaint filed by local animal rights activists, the Ravet police registered a case against the accused. The man, identified as Rajendra Raghunath Sahu from Odisha, has been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
