This is horrible, A learning experience, but not something that anyone should go through I had something similar happen to me recently where it was almost 2 years of waiting not for the role, but to proceed forward on the project with everyone else. The VA's were chosen, but everyone up top was all but silent And then not even a week ago, after all the waiting, the project was cancelled permanently. I sincerely hope this isn't happening anymore to you, and I pray it doesn't happen to anyone else.

I worked on a project as both the Casting Director and a voice actor, but at some point, I was recast and the studio manager/art director took over casting. No one informed me of the change, and I only found out a year later after watching a trailer for the project. I reached out to the art director multiple times over the following months and received no response. Eventually, I contacted the CEO, who apologized. After that, the art director finally got in touch and offered me a smaller “radio” role in the project. My frustration was never really about being recast, but about the complete lack of communication. The silence made it feel unprofessional, especially after I had already invested time and energy into the project. Another year then passed with no update on the promised second role. I checked in with the art director every few months and still got nowhere. At that point, I contacted the CEO again and explained that the situation felt both unprofessional and disrespectful. I had now been promised a role twice, with no follow-through and no proper communication either time. The CEO apologized again and told me that, after speaking with the art director, it had been decided that the CEO would take over those responsibilities moving forward. Apparently, I was not the only one experiencing major communication issues, as others had raised similar concerns as well. My point is, at least Mason had the professional courtesy to let this individual know that he was not selected and even did in a respectful and professional manner. I was left in the dark for not months, but years.

This behavior needs to stop on CCC, or really anywhere you do casting. Ask for permission before casting anyone. Plus since it's a fan project, I'm going to automatically decline, due to several bad experiences I've been through, and I'm very pick and choose with fan projects.
