THIS. It's just weird for me if it's not PHI.
Others can do what they want but the Philly aspect is ingrained. Even with the WNBA, I consider myself just fans of players. I do not actually claim the teams. I just can't. PHI is my team once we get one.

@RealMamaEagle This is also why I have a hard time becoming a fan of a team in other sports (soccer, wnba - unless there’s a Philly team) I don’t have the same amount of investment in other teams. Like, I’ve seen every major 4 Philly team be garbage but rode it out. That creates fandom

My only take on the “fan of 2 teams in one sport” thing is a person can never love them equally.
That masks slips when they face each other in a big game.

I can’t speak for others but With me my family is from south jersey so I was born into being a Philadelphia fan but I’ve been in Atlanta for over 20 years so I’m always going to support the GA teams because this has been my home for so long but i understand when people say that
