@IanKennedyCK I particularly liked the 'man hater' after claiming to be a professional journalist. Pretty much sums up the problem with him as a commentator.

Not a great look for PWHL announcer Clay Matvik dropping into a PWHL fan's DMs to scorn them for very valid criticism. Alex Carpenter should be referenced as the player she is. No need for the paternalism (and yes, Alex Carpenter is the most decorated athlete in the family)

@IanKennedyCK There is a culture of being unkind to the men who call PWHL games. Here's a story! One of them (not Clay) called a lousy game last year. I was curious, so I looked him up. First game back from cancer treatments! The teams posted about it! "X" didn't care. Had to get the dunks in

@sch834 @IanKennedyCK The problem is, female athletes are constantly linked to male counterparts .. even if the male in question isn't an athlete, the headlines will read "CEO of Healthsmart Bob Smith's wife scored a hat trick!" because he's considered more famous.

@IanKennedyCK i'm a big fan of women's hockey, but you can't talk about wanting to grow the game and then get butt hurt when someone mentions an athletes famous male relative. It would be a dereliction of duty not to. if Caitlin Clark's brother played basketball it would be mentioned every day
