He worked with the Samoan clan and friends he had known for years in Tama and Tonga Loa, got to face Former World Champs in Damien and Randy and was in a long winded but meaningful feud the whole time. He helped get Jacob over too. That's far from a wasted year. If you mean he was hired to get over himself and be the star... He wasn't. He was hired to help WWE get talent over in that year... He helped get. Jacob - Bona fide main eventer Talla/Hikuleo Tama Tonga in particular to the position where is is now the breakout star of the MFT. That's a good return for a year.

The WWE really hired Jeff Cobb, wasted a year of his life, then fired him. There’s no way future free agents don’t take stuff like this into consideration
