It was the Muslims who demanded the partition to create the Muslim state of Pakistan. Tens of millions of Muslims stayed in India after the partition and their percentage of India’s population has climbed steadily ever since. The percentage of minorities in Pakistan, meanwhile, has plunged to near zero. That reflects the difference in tolerance between the two societies.

The day after a horrific massacre that specifically targeted Hindus, you might think media would run editorials standing in solidarity with the innocent and condemning the perpetrators.
Nope. @wapo runs this by @RanaAyyub that includes a snide aside that @HinduAmerican “lionizes” Trump. A single passing mention of the attack, with no context or condemnation.
No @RanaAyyub, we don’t lionize any leader. We lionize actions that benefit our community—local and global. Full stop.

28 Hindus were slaughtered by Muslim extremists in Kashmir. They asked them for their ID cards and made the men pull down their pants to check if they were circumcised. Hindu husbands were killed in front of Hindu wives, who were spared in order to carry the message along.
Yet, according to South Asian scholar activists…Hinduphobia is premised on the *false notion that Hindus experience violence because of their faith.*
These innocent Hindus weren’t targeted and killed en masse because of their ethnicity or race or political affiliation. They were killed for being Hindu.

110% Truth!
There was no need to conduct elections in Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370, the region needed to remain under the control of the central govt.
Judges need to be more mindful when making decisions that could go against the interests and lives of our people.
Brave and much needed that someone dared to speak the obvious.

Yeah, going to need a lot more here than thoughts and prayer…
While these statements are fine for Day 0, as the enormity of this Hindu massacre in India’s Kashmir comes into more focus, our country must:
-immediately cease all aid to Pakistan, including the planned $400 million to update Pakistani F-16’s
-increase coordination and intelligence sharing between the US and India towards dismantling terrorism infrastructure in Pakistan
-call this what it is—an anti-Hindu terror attack
Our country must say and do much more in the face of this horrific attack.
