This is exactly how I felt throughout the movie sitting in the dark of the movie hall. On the edge, skeptical, wary of anything that moves. Much like George Kutty. And to me, this exactly should be what cinema is all about. To momentarily forget our reality, to step into the soul of the character that plays onscreen, to traverse his mental space, to laugh, to cry, to feel all of his rage, his helplessness as though it were our own. And Drishyam3 was all of this. When Jeethu Joseph said this movie will be a natural progression of George Kutty’s character, I knew all of the heavy lifting will have to be done by the man himself and boy did he deliver!!! George Kutty is in a hell loop created by his own conscience, and whoever could’ve played the vagaries of his emotions, his slow descent to psychological deterioration, other than Mohanlal? The movie isn’t without its faults (no movie is imo). Pretty sure D3 would’ve been a classic if not for all that head spinning botched up editing in the latter half. And the performances of some of the supporting cast, (Ikykw) well. But even then, do I think this movie deserves the kind of negativity that its seen getting online? Nope. Cinema is subjective yes, it is your personal prerogative to like or dislike one. But you know what is a sh*tty thing to do? Concealing your dislike for a particular actor wrapped up in a 'constructive criticism' label. You guys know who you are, so please do not come at me with ‘oh we aren’t allowed to dislike a movie or what?’ I mean, at least be true to yourself and spare the whataboutery😬 Anyhoo, to those like me, who actually can perceive a movie for what it is and the actor for who he is (the greatest ofc😭), Drishyam3 is definitely right up your alley. Only if I could give spoilers and talk about how Lalettan performed each of his scenes, so nuanced, so absolutely befitting the legend that he is, sheesh. #Drishyam3

To clarify - the untracked gross appears lower mainly due to the immense demand across all markets, with most shows either fast filling or sold out well before release. When a film carries such high pre-release hype and demand, and there are limited additional shows on Day 1, the pre-sales itself covers the majority of the total gross, leaving very little scope for additional untracked collections. For a simple example: If a high-demand film like #Drishyam3 opens bookings in a 1000-seater theatre, almost 98 to 100% of the seats get sold out in advance booking itself. So naturally, the difference between pre-sales and actual Day 1 gross will be minimal. On the other hand, for a comparatively lower-demand film, only 40–50% occupancy might be achieved in advance, with the rest of the audience opting for counter bookings or last-minute purchases (to avoid booking charges or based on reviews). In such cases, there will be a significant gap between pre-sales and final Day 1 figures. So, the current trend for #Drishyam3 is completely in line with its demand pattern and booking behaviour. And regarding overseas: The confusion regarding overseas presales and Day 1 figures in certain territories is mainly due to discounted passes issued by major cinema chains.
