Just finished a 4 day cruise on #Lake_Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) towing an #ERT system that deciphered the electrical resistivity; hence, the water salinity below the lake bed. Super exciting being on the boat and watching live as the salinity is changing throughout the cruise.

I went core sampling on #Lake_Kinneret with Elan Levy from the Geological Survey of Israel and Ami Nishri from @IOLR_Israel to decipher the sources of salinity in the lake. A hot day like this is better on a boat.

We sailed to the Jordan River outlet into Lake Kinneret trying to map the Jordan River plume in the lake. Different probes were dragged behind the boat while recording different parameters at different depths. Conclusion: sailing in the lake is fun! @IOLR_Israel

These days, we are conducting a survey around Lake #Kinneret to check the groundwater salinity next to the shore using a shovel and an EC meter. Today, we conducted an #ERT survey to get a 2D picture of the resistivity on the Lake shores to compliment our data. #IOLR_Israel

Today, I went with the #IOLR_Israel team from the #Kinneret Limnological Laboratory to help the farmers in Northern Israel harvest avocados, as their Thai workers flew home due to the war in Israel. It is great to be outside and help the local farmers.

I was honored to receive the "Ronit Nativ" prize of the Israeli association of water resources yesterday at the annual conference for my #PhD work. My dissertation was about using saline #groundwater from #coastal_aquifers as a source for #desalination.
