this is probably the band’s fav song on the project because it feels like it bottled up the nuance and special sparkle of how we actually sound when we write and play together as a band and group of friends.

she’d never tell you, but looking at him over a lukewarm cup of coffee from the provocatively named gas stations , she realizes that she will always love him. somewhere in pampa, tx, she is swaying alone in her motel room, drinking pink wine, singing this song.

we wrote the song from a perspective that wasn’t any of our own but still felt connected to us from vignettes of our own lives. in our minds, there is a girl that traveled to pampa to meet up with an old flame that probably never really cared about her.

our next single, “pampa, tx”, comes out on 4/30. during our most recent tour, we stopped in a texan town called “pampa”. there were literal tumbleweeds scampering across the road, a phenomenon we previously thought only happened in cartoons. shallowalcove.ffm.to/pampatx
