Anyone else noticed that not one of Scotland, Ireland or Italy have been able to back up the performances they’ve put in against England the week after? Coincidentally all against Wales, but just shows how everyone gets up that little bit more to play us.
I’m sure people will disagree or argue this or even claim it’s just being bitter but facts are facts.
Only 6 sprinters have EVER gone faster than 9.77:
Blake - banned.
Gay - banned.
Powell - banned.
Gatlin - banned.
Coleman - banned
Bolt - linked by Ariza & Conte to Memo. WADA refused to retest his samples for fear it would "destroy the Olympic movement."
That says it all.
@Overthehillprop You can both be a future Ireland 10 option and therefore merit inclusion in the squad whilst also not being the first choice option now for Leinster. These truths easily co-exist
The Prendergast Paradox....
Farrell is a genius because he is totally ready to play international rugby
Cullen is right and he isn't ready for minutes in high profile games.
@CaolanSRugby@jaredwright17 What is the South African view of Ireland? With key losses domestically and at the World Cup, is Ireland viewed as having a soft under belly when it comes to the crunch?
And if Rassie was picking an Ireland squad, would it look any different?
The Ireland squad for this summer's test series has been announced and it is dividing opinion.
I will be recording a very special reaction pod & test series preview with @jaredwright17 tomorrow (Thursday) so if you have any questions for us, fire them down below 👇
@dementedmole Fair warning 👍 I might give it a rare miss.
I don't personally see anything I will gain from indulging in more angst about Carley. But I agree, he was appalling, and we would have won without him.
@TheLooseH@ScotRugbyBlog That's a rabbit hole alright Jeff. I've got Jared Payne (Ireland 20/20) and
Israel Falou (Australia 73/73 + Tonga 1/1).
Brian O'Driscoll, Thierry Dusautoir and Diego Dominguez all in the one sub appearance team.
Mike Ross (59/61) feels like the prop equivalent of always starting
Gonna try name a Men's XV using players who have started every game for a club or country.
So far:
Cheslin Kolbe (Toulon 31/31)
Hugo Keenan (Ireland 39/39)
James Lowe (Ireland 31/31)
Mike Haley (Munster 100/100)
Pretty impressive records.
Looking forward to this brain teaser.
@MasterOfNonePod A draw via stalemate happens when the opponent is not in check but has no legal moves. The opponent king has no squares to move to where it wouldn't be under attack
Any chess players out there?
I am new to the game and started playing bots which has been fun but I have drawn two games and have no idea why.
Anyone able to explain?
@CaolanSRugby I actually quite like this year's format. If the parameters are 4 group matches on to a last 16, then I think it's as good as you can get. Everyone still with something on the line with two rounds to go. Playing two teams from the other leagues makes most ties interesting too
The current #InvestecChampionsCup format is deeply flawed, but we have some cracking matchups next weekend in Round 3 👇
Exeter v Glasgow
Toulon v Munster
Ulster v Toulouse
Bath v Racing
La Rochelle v Leicester
And the best of the lot...
Bordeaux v Saracens
I cannot wait 🍿🤩
@gortoshay John Ryan was the only starting forward for any province at the weekend in his 30s. Average age of starting pack per province - Leinster 23.75, Ulster 25.125, Munster 25.5, Connacht 24.875. Average age of the combined starting forwards of all the provinces was 24.8 this weekend
History is always repeating
Newcastle won the 1932 FA Cup final against Arsenal with a goal that came after the ball looked to have gone out over the endline
