@meg_maclaren Might only be small steps. But you've made some huge strides to get back to winning ways. 👏👊🏌️♀️⛳️

Australia summary:
Bit of a strange trip in the end with week 1 being cancelled and week 2 being shortened to 3 rounds (plus no practice rounds) because of bad weather.
Made both cuts but that’s as exciting as it got. Finishing in the 50/60s is a long way from what I want from myself and I wish I could have got more out of my game than I have this trip, because I did a lot of good stuff.
But… in the context of what’s happened over the last couple of years, I’ve made a lot of progress and I’m proud of myself. Finding ways to make cuts when your game isn’t quite there or something happens to derail you, particularly when you’re playing in the afternoon in round 2 and you know pretty much exactly what you need, can be harder mentally than winning tournaments.
This past week play was suspended when I had 6 holes left in round 2. I was one shot outside the cut line as it stood and we went back out at 6pm. I was restarting on a reachable par 5 and it was pretty windy, so I knew I pretty much had to make birdie there and then potentially hang on. I ended up with a 6 footer for birdie, left to right with 20mph wind off my left shoulder… managed to hole it but I can tell you it made me feel quite ill 😂
I also played the 18th in the dark. Decided I’d rather hit my 3 wood to lay up (with water right) in that moment where I was at least in tune with my swing, than have to come back at 7am and have that be my first shot 🥲
Anyway it all worked out, but these are the stresses away from the top of the leaderboard that players can experience in their own little worlds.
Like I said, overall disappointed not to make more of some solid golf over the two weeks. I made too many silly mistakes which just piled pressure on my game. The scoring can look a long way between 60th place and being in contention, but the reality is each round has little moments that they turn on. It doesn’t take much for a round that’s level or 1 under after 12 holes to turn into a 67, but at the moment mine are going the other way in those crucial points.
A lot of people have heard Hovland’s interview where he talks about dealing with shots no longer being in the windows you’re used to seeing. When you’ve been through a certain level of bad golf, where you hit shots you never could have even imagined coming off your clubface previously, the scarring goes pretty deep. Moving past that is hard because you’re having to learn to do something mentally you used to do automatically.
For me personally, I’m making progress every round. Excited to keep doing that and get to a level I know I’m capable of.

An awesome win for @LottieWoad at the Augusta National Ladies Amateur Championships. Congratulations to coach and Caddy @StevenRobbo45 👏👏👍⛳️🏌♀️

@NUCLRGOLF What we fail to see is what Dame Laura did next. Stamp the divot down, you'd never know. Rather than leave a broken tee that messes with the Greenkeepers mower. #noteerequired

Even the sharpest pros go through golf's highs and lows, and @meg_maclaren is no exception. A visit from her swing coach aims to put her back on track at a crucial time in the @LETgolf season: pgat.us/MacLaren_Part2 Check out Meghan this week at the @AIGWomensOpen.

Huge thanks to these two for spending a few days in Spain with me prepping for the 2023 @letgolf season. (And dealing with the snow 🤷🏻♀️) Beyond grateful to have them on my side @NickSotoGolf @ShaneJRose 🤝 #themoreyouknow

Not sure what to read into omens for the year when you take your coaches for “warm(er) weather training”… and it snows

@JGGolfFitness Nice pick up 👌. Not sure if you watched it. Rahm was 16/1 when Morikawa was on the 9th tee. Unreal back 9. 👏

@4golfonline Having to play from an old divot in the fairway. Good tee shot. No reward.

@meg_maclaren Great article again 👏. You'll have to talk me through those swing changes 😂😂. 👊🏌♀️⛳️

@meg_maclaren @LETgolf Another brilliant week. One of many during an amazing year. Keep doing what your doing, more wins will come. 👏👊⛳️🏌♀️

Little bit heartbroken to lose in my second playoff this year @LETgolf.
65 67 67… not quite enough, but it was a special French Open 🇫🇷
There’s different types of lows in this game, but I’ll take this one over the past few weeks. Thanks for the support 🖤🥈
