I applied again in multiple cycles, and was consistently rejected. It was embarrassing. After 9 straight rejections this cycle, it was becoming clear the dream was dead. Then last night, I got the email: Accepted at UCLA. Pure joy.

In 2017, I got kicked out UCI’s economics PhD program b/c I sucked at solving RBC models by hand. The next few years were the most frustrating of my life. But I was too stubborn to give it up. So I took 7 more math courses. I retook the GRE. (3 times) I worked as an RA.

Great work by @Shantanu__K, Udayan. Very worried for survival of micro industries. They’re more than 99% of the MSME sector. It’s weird that micro is combined with small and medium in policy. E.g. in the relief package, barely anything for micro enterprises. It employs 10.7Cr!
