⚾️ MLB Play of the Day Phillies - Cubs Over 9.5 -105 1.5 units (6:45 PM) Mick Abel has made some starts, but has been very lucky with his 0.79 ERA, he has an xERA of 3.14 and xFIP of 2.40 - have to believe regression is coming for the rookie. Colin Rea has been a fade candidate for me as well with an ERA of 3.59 but xERA of 4.81 and xFIP of 4.29. Not worried about either of these offenses, they are both proven to be very strong (Cubs 3rd wRC+, Phillies 12th).

Both games have gone over so far, and that's often how it's gone in series, high scoring to begin then the defense wakes up and we see some low scoring games.
To me 6.5 is an overreaction to the first few games, the total should still be at 6 here. Panthers defense is capable of keeping this low event and Bob is as well, and Skinner is capable of holding it down.

Expecting them to play better in G2, Bob is clearly better than Skinner and he should put the team on his back.

Randy Vasquez is back today, and he's still due to regress even after getting crushed last game with an ERA of 3.99 but an xERA of 5.80 and xFIP of 5.56. The Pirates were able to put in work against him, now a better lineup like the Brewers at home should be able to even better.
Chad Patrick starts for the Brewers, with an ERA of 2.97 but xERA of 3.75 and xFIP of 4.26 he's also due for some regression. Should get the F5 over pretty easily here.

Cease is a pitcher that's due for positive regression - he's been unlucky in terms of having an ERA of 4.66 but his xERA is at 3.64 and xFIP at 3.19. He also has a LOB% of 66.9%, which should go up as it is very low.
Robbie Ray has been good but he is due for some regression, not that much but the Padres are overall a stronger lineup than the Giants, and the Giants are a poor lineup against RHP (22nd wRC+).

Emotions will be high tonight in the rematch, should be a close game and I think both teams can get 6 goals. I give an edge to the Panthers as well as underdogs.

Bullpen day for the Brewers, starting with DL Hall and then Quinn Priester, Priester is not a guy I am high on as his xFIP sits at 4.42. The weather conditions at Great American Ballpark project a 14% increase in runs today.
