I tried my first ever @openmiddle problem today & WOW my kids exceeded my expectations. I gave little direction, but they were SO engaged. There was frustration, struggle, confusion, but most importantly excitement! I can’t wait to use more open ended tasks with my students!

After learning about constraints and success criteria, we started sketching our plan to build a hut for our STEM Challenge. Huts have to be less than 36 square inches, at least 5” tall, and they also must have a functioning door. Stay tuned to see the finished products!
