I took my 288 DOT out of my self-managed vault in Nova Wallet about 3 or 4 weeks ago. My intention was not to play with all of it. My worker plan was only 100 DOT. On my first try, I thought I caught the high around $1.32, so I swapped 100 DOT. But I did not fully consider what the rest of the market was showing me. BTC was up and holding its range. ETH was up and holding too. I was looking at DOT, but I was not respecting the bigger market weather enough. That $1.32 area ended up acting more like a new floor than a top. I lost around half a DOT or so trying to work that move, and it took me about 10 days to play it back carefully. Lesson learned. Now, with DOT around $1.39, I only swapped out 50 DOT. The other 50 DOT stays like dry powder — loaded, ready, but not rushed. Until I have over $1,000 in my worker bags, 100 DOT is all I am willing to work with. Unless the value moves way up, the rest is set in my foundation. I’m not trying to gamble with my fortress. The whales still have a tight chokehold on the market right now. It’s 2026. I see it. 😆 But this money is already dedicated to crypto, learning, and moving closer to my foundation: the Polkadot ecosystem. I’m trying to grow into three things: A market student/analyst.
