Anyone ever see 3 minor penalties and a 10 min misconduct called on the same sequence? Never seen a 13 year old kid snap like this. Volume up dad in stand “it’s hockey not tennis” 🫣😵‍💫 Not a good look

@angryirishmac @TalkinDevils82 And that’s on your GM for not being able to build a team that can go 10-10 without Jack. Yes Jack gets hurt. It’s not a surprise. It’s on TF for doing nothing

@TalkinDevils82 Or Jack needs to stay healthy. Weird the only year he is healthy plays over 75 games devils make playoffs and win a round. Next 3 seasons he misses 20+ and they aren’t very good.

The #njdevils had 2 coaches (one interim) before Sheldon Keefe. Lindy Ruff & Travis Green. Both of whom have their team currently in the playoffs while the Devils are once again stuck in the mud Common denominator: Tom Fitzgerald This franchise is doomed with him

eBay fucking sucks. I sold a Cooper Flagg Refractor for $176.50 and it says delivered but the buyer claims he never got it. eBay just issued a full refund, but I also will not receive my card back. This is the biggest load of bullshit ever.

@Jetspete @JNRadio_Glenn 2 with 5 year rookie deals, 2 with 4 year. You would have no problem signing the players. And guess what, if you did, and they’re studs like you’re implying, then you sauce them

19 years ago, a high school basketball coach put his team manager into a game for the final four minutes. The kid had never played a single minute of competitive basketball in his life. He scored 20 points. Jason McElwain was diagnosed with severe autism at age two. He didn’t speak until he was five. He couldn’t chew solid food until he was six. He wore a nappy for most of his early childhood. As a baby, he was rigid, wouldn’t make eye contact, and hid in corners away from other children. He tried out for his school basketball team every year and got cut every time. Too small. Too slight. Barely 5’6 and about 54 kilograms. But he loved the game so much that his mum called the school and asked if there was any way he could be involved. The coach created a team manager role for him. For three years, McElwain showed up to every practice and every game. He wore a shirt and tie on match days. He ran drills, handed out water, kept stats, and cheered every basket like he’d scored it himself. On 15 February 2006, the last home game of his final school year, the coach let him suit up in a proper jersey and sit on the bench. With four minutes left and a comfortable lead, the coach sent him in. His first shot missed. His second missed. Then something shifted. He hit a three-pointer. Then another. Then another. His teammates stopped shooting entirely and just kept passing him the ball. He hit six three-pointers and a two-pointer. 20 points in four minutes. The highest scorer in the game. When the final buzzer went, the entire crowd rushed the court and lifted him onto their shoulders. His mum tapped the coach on the shoulder, in tears. “This is the nicest gift you could have ever given my son.” McElwain won the ESPY Award for Best Moment in Sports that year, beating out some of the biggest names in professional sport. He’s 36 now. He works at a local supermarket, coaches basketball, has run 17 marathons including five Boston Marathons, and travels the country speaking about never giving up. When asked about that night, his coach still gets emotional. “For him to come in and seize the moment like he did was certainly more than I ever expected. I was an emotional wreck.”

@timmymaction @ScottRe43408649 @MikeGrinnell_ Syracuse routinely sends teams to the state tournaments for USAHockey. Having a d1 team would not hurt the crunch at all. Hockey is booming for Syracuse. Plus just being Syracuse, would fill the barn in name alone

@ScottRe43408649 @MikeGrinnell_ It makes sense. There are plenty of AHL/NCAA teams that struggle to profit. How many cities have multiple successful hockey teams? Keep in mind Syracuse population.

@mesmith27 @jp_gambatese Stephen Gionta was this in 2012. Bottom 6 guy that could put the puck in the net but was just a good presence. I’d take S Gio over PCotts any day, but he can carve out a role

@jp_gambatese I want him to stay with NJ purely on his shoot out talent, & likability. As dumb as it sounds to type out, connection to fans is a great trait with bottom 6 talent.

Ya know, I know Cotter has been pretty atrocious from an on-ice metric perspective this season, but he 1) is such a likeable guy and 2) has an incredibly useful toolkit. I’d like him to stick around. #NJDevils
