@JANUSZCZAK I studied the H of A at Uni. The subject is completely misunderstood. When studying H of A you view history through the lens of artist. In order to understand art you have to grasp of social, economic and political history. But some think it is just looking at pictures.

This made me so sad. 👇 How on earth did we get to a stage where Art History is deemed so lowly and unimportant and unnecessary that only 800 people a year take thé A-level! Madness. It’s the human story. Frôm thé very beginning. Before there were words, there was art.

MCC has today announced its new edition of the Laws of Cricket for 2026, which will come into force from 1 October.
The new edition is the first to be published since 2022.

@stephanshemilt @ChatilPandi Well, yes, no argument there. But when teams participating (or not participating) and even where tournaments are held is determined by geopolitics rather than the good of the game, the ICC doesn’t have many levers at their disposal.

The governance of global cricket is an utter shambles. The ICC essentially exists only to organise major tournaments and is now struggling to do that.

The Pakistani government have announced that the team will travel to Sri Lanka for the tournament but will not play their fixture against India scheduled for the 15th February. The ICC are yet to comment.
