Brilliant article. Are consciousness and god one and the same? Seems like most religions point that way if you dig deep enough. Many mystics in all three Abrahamic religions point to a collective conscious experience/deity/presence/spirit, etc. gifting us with an omniscient perspective of the world around us. Many many interpretations of the same eternal experience at the end of the day. Great insight! A welcome perspective that deserves greater attention in today’s ever chaotic discourse.

The U.S. did NOT overthrow a democratically-elected government in Iran in 1953. Stop allowing this false narrative to go unchallenged. 🧵1/11

@LaPetiteADA Liquidity pools are activity based as far as I know. This may end up mostly effecting centralized exchanges.

⚠️ CLARITY Act deal: No passive yield on stablecoins, only activity-based rewards!! What does this mean? 👀 ▪️ Passive yield = earning interest just for holding stablecoins is now banned in the US. ▪️ Activity-based rewards = stablecoins can only give rewards when you actively use them. How “activity-based” rewards will actually work remains unclear, which leaves space for future regulatory discussions. 🙄 This move reflects pressure from the banking sector! Until they decide what "activity-based rewards" means, this could: 👇 ❌ Reduces incentives for holding stablecoins. ❌ Makes the U.S. less competitive vs. other countries. ❌ Hurts DeFi, apps, and innovation that rely on flexible yields. ❌ Could slow institutional adoption. Stablecoins, such as $USDC, already crashed -18% today, after the announcement. Crypto is here to empower users, not limit what you can do with your money. 💪

"In 'La Strada' (1954), which is my favourite film, Fellini is God. The film was more powerful than a work of neo-realism. With 'La Strada', Fellini composed a lyric poem, the great epic of man’s pain and joy." --- Abbas Kiarostami

@roryisconfused They're out there somewhere. They have to be. The internet is too incredibly rich for writers to not bring back the encyclopedic novel in a new contemporary and joyfully tangential contredictory way.

I don’t want chic, incisive novels by people who know how to mingle at publishing-adjacent parties…I want to read bizarre, singular, musical novels by quasi-mystic basketcases who are otherwise shit at being alive

Thank you for reminding me of this great book Joyce. Read this in a history class in college. 1968 to the Present at BU. Such an amazing course that blended history with literature and pop music from the decades. Why our post WWII history and culture is not taught in high school curriculums more often even today baffles me. This book would definitely be part of that canon.

if you recall Tim O'Brien's tour de force of a group portrait of an American 17-man platoon fighting in the Vietnam War --"The Things They Carried"--as a very moving work of fiction, go back & reread: absolutely brilliant prose poem, perfect technique perfectly executed like one of those old-time card tricks where the magician shuffles the cards all in the air & they fold back together like a waterfall without a single card dropped.

@TheCinesthetic Reds by Warren Beatty - An epic that should be seen and talked about way more often - Jack Nicholson playing Eugene O’Neil is the icing on the cake too. Such a good film all around.

@RachelXReads It’s important to remember too that an author’s audience may very well be found in another time and place. You can’t assume the generations who have yet to be born will not appreciate the literature of today. In some cases maybe moreso than we do now.

Yeats perfectly expresses why AI can never replace artists, novelists, or poets. Read "Where My Books go," and you'll understand that the human author crafts every word for you, to find you, to "sing" to you. It's a message from one living soul to another.

@ReshadKool @Yabba900 @CryptoMane4 I really don't think we can predict what will happen to be honest. The pent up inertia is greater this time around. Could it lead to a larger run? Maybe, maybe not. I guess time will tell.

@Yabba900 $3 seems high. Though if there is a run it could be in play with a wick. I don’t think we break $1.80 this year. Would like to be wrongs obviously for @CryptoMane4 and @ShawnQuirk ‘s sake.

@nguyenhdi The Love Song of Alfred J. Prufrock by T.S. Eliot is what did it for me. Sometimes it’s just a matter of finding the right poets. They’re out there. As far as epics go though and Elizabethans for that matter, Edmund Spenser’s “The Fairey Queen” needs to be read more

The Washington Post is getting rid of its Books section. We’re losing the institutions—journalism, middle-class artistic and intellectual culture—that once made life bearable. Those things were a threat to the super-rich who increasingly govern us. Democracy dies in illiteracy.

@ShawnQuirk @SketchesbyBoze Almost every data point says otherwise. Literature is on an accelerated death spiral in the last 10 years. The smartphone has taken over utterly and completely. It is now niche like jazz.
