Two Questions! 1️⃣ Who is headed to Web Summit Lisbon? 2️⃣ What should I plan to eat/see/do in Porto, Sintra & Lisbon while I’m there? My personal work travel hack is always, always, ALWAYS tack on a little sightseeing and tourism to the beginning and/or end of work & conference trips! I don’t usually take time “off” but I make sure I have different views, different food, different experiences and make the most of the travel time! Fire your marketer if they’re still pushing Instagram reels and TikTok dances for your B2B manufacturing, IT, materials, niche services or technical biz… Your next customer isn’t scrolling welding hacks set to a beat. They’re on YouTube typing “how to cut CNC setup time” or “zero-trust network deployment step by step.” Here’s how to win: ▶︎ Audit your audience’s questions. Use Google search and YouTube autocomplete or AnswerThePublic to mine real search queries. ▶︎ Create deep-dive videos that solve those problems: demos, case studies, how-tos, expert interviews. Aim for longer-form, high-value content. ▶︎ Optimize for search: clear titles, keyword-rich descriptions, timestamped chapters, and a CTA to download a guide or book a demo or other value adds. ▶︎ Repurpose ruthlessly into: • 60-second LinkedIn clips with one key takeaway each • Quote graphics for Twitter and Instagram Stories • Shorts and TikTok/Reels teasers that hook and drive back to the full video or a landing page, or generate qualified engagement. (Think: Comment CHECKLIST to get the complete list... type prompts when the clip only covers the first two) ▶︎ Measure what matters: watch time, ranking in search, referral traffic, leads from video CTAs and pipeline impact. “But I don’t want to be on camera.” Use screen captures, product demos, floor walkthroughs, voiceovers, slides, customer testimonials, recorded calls you were already on camera for, or AI avatars. No need for a Hollywood setup. “This is too time-intensive.” Batch-film on one day, outsource editing or leverage AI tools. (It's only time-intensive if you choose a time-intensive production option.) A single video can feed your whole content engine. Stop chasing trends and likes… start owning search. YouTube builds trust, authority and fuels your pipeline. Use other platforms to remind your audience you offer real value - beyond a chuckle at Frank in Accounting, who is still getting the timing wrong when he tries to floss. Remain awesome. :)

I do NOT recommend: – Moving cross-country (Ottawa🛫🛬 Vancouver) on short notice – Doing it without taking any time off work 💀 – Living off UberEats for a month while waiting for your furniture to arrive – Hosting 10 people for Easter - including parents staying for 2 weeks - and arriving just 10 days after your boxes do – Pausing sales and BD at Acclivity for 4 months to maintain sanity (Actually... that one might’ve been the right call) But! After a chaotic few months, I’m finally unpacked, moved in, have figured out the gas stove, and am MOSTLY adapted to Pacific Time. Still don't know where the closest gas station is and haven’t explored much yet... but that’s next. And now, we’re officially rebooting biz dev efforts next week - perfect timing with #WebSummitVancouver in town! The move to Vancouver wasn’t just for views and weather (although… hello, ocean + mountains). We’ve added a number of new, amazing team members over the last few months (so we've got new capacity), and I have bold growth goals for @AcclivityAgency for 2025. With that, I felt expanding my network, reach, and presence on the West Coast would help achieve those goals. Now here I am! Also: my sister, niece, and nephew live here. Getting to see them more? No-brainer. Thank you to everyone who helped me feel less lost in the shuffle, and everyone checking in on me in the DMs. I’ll be following up now that I’m out of survival mode and back in “let’s build” mode. 💪 Question for you: How long does it take you to recover from a big move? Did I just fail at life here? 😅 Also, any reccos, intros, or hidden gem tips for the greater Vancouver area (technically I'm in West Vancouver - yep, it’s a separate city, who knew?) are very welcome. @hnshah I wouldn't suggest ignoring all advice. I suggest getting advice from 3 people who have done what you're trying to do, consider what may and may not work for you, then make something your own with all of that intel. Don't fear knowledge; collect it and bend to your will.
