Tonight at a protest in support of Palestine, the NYPD and its notoriously violent SRG turned up in droves, escalating a nonviolent march, throwing people to the ground and making several arrests. The NYPD must not violently stifle the speech of concerned New Yorkers.

When our friends or neighbors are experiencing a mental health crisis, they should be treated with compassion and understanding – not cops and the threat of jail. We must end our over-reliance on the police as first responders in every crisis. We must pass Daniel's Law.
