Regardless if the footage is fake or not, an F-35 was hit by some sort of AA weapon.
It landed and the pilot is fine. That's the bit that you should be interested in, an F-35 just took a missile to the face and walked away like it was nothing.

Even an A-10 or Su-25 wouldn't be able to stay in the air and safely land after that, yet somehow a FAR more fragile F-35 did?

@IDFkila67 @Winter_Six If they actually managed to hit the thing at all, why not follow it up with a second shot to finish it? Once that thing is damaged, the stealth outline is completely ruined.
Managing to *actually* down one of the things entirely would have been a much bigger PR victory for them.

WHAT I THINK HAPPENED:
1). Regular F-35 flight gets cancelled midair because the pilot noticed something wrong with his plane.
Squawked on their emergency channel and flew to a friendly base.

Furthermore, those missiles are the size of a telephone pole. If one of those had hit an F-35, even with shrapnel? The jet would have been basically annihilated.
