What a Day to Remember! BuildHER Sandbox was a success! 🥳
On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the BlockchainFUL Conference @BlockchainFul, we gathered 100 women to step boldly into the world of Web3 gaming with The Sandbox @TheSandboxGame, and the energy was pure magic.
From the very start, you could feel it in the room: curiosity, excitement, and a hunger to learn. For many, this was their first hands-on experience with Web3 gaming and tools like VoxEdit and Game Maker.
This wasn’t just another workshop. It was about creating access, breaking barriers, and rewriting the story of who gets to build in Web3 gaming. Too often, African women are left out of conversations in emerging tech.
With BuildHER Sandbox, we’re making sure our voices, our stories, and our creations are not only present but celebrated.
A huge thank you to @TheSandboxGame and @TheSandboxDAO for opening up their ecosystem to women builders from Africa, and to every single participant who showed up with boldness and curiosity. Your presence reminds us why this work matters, because when women build, communities thrive.
This is only the beginning. The women you see in these pictures are the first wave of female African creators stepping into the Sandbox. From here, we’ll continue exploring, learning, and creating together. And one day soon, we’ll look back at these pictures and realize this was the moment the story shifted.
