Loss of Medicaid funding is not just hurting single moms in government housing as the BBB2025 supporters would imply. Seniors are being put in harms way by these changes well.

Brandywine Valley Active Aging has operated in Coatesville and Downingtown dating back to the 1970's and provides emergency rental assistance, food services, and one-on-one support to seniors. I have spoken a lot recently about the impact that President Trump's Big Ugly Bill will have on our community. Cuts to SNAP assistance, Medicare and Medicaid, community health programs and more are not just theoretical, they have very real consequences. Approximately 445,000 seniors and people with disabilities in PA rely on Medicaid to help afford their Medicare expenses, including premiums and out-of-pocket costs. Medicaid pays for care for 3 in 5 PA nursing home residents and it is estimated that PA will lose $53 billion in federal Medicaid funding over the next 10 years. The Governor's office has estimated 310,000 Pennsylvanians will lose their Medicaid coverage entirely. While Republicans are celebrating the passage of this bill, my colleagues and I are in our communities hearing directly from those impacted. Keep calling, keep writing, keep pushing lawmakers to stand up for seniors. It makes a difference.
